The Gucci of today is defined by its unmistakable playful, quirky nature. One that transcends how we, as handbag lovers, saw the House in the past. Creative director Alessandro Michele has done an incredible job at fusing his quirky-cool style with the House’s History and iconic brand DNA.
Michele has never stopped exploring the House’s archives and history since his appointment at Gucci, and the House’s long-held legacy of travel is further expanded upon this season. Forever a source of inspiration for Gucci and Michele himself, Gucci presents a new resort collection that is a fun ode to the seasonal routine of jet-setting off to seaside towns.
An Ode to the Art of Travel
It’s something we all are becoming reacquainted with in this post-quarantine world. The Gucci Resort Collection features very literal nods to some of the world’s most popular beach destinations. Bags embody beloved locales such as Capri, Cancun, Miami, Mykonos, Montecarlo, and more.
Gucci Monogram Gets a Bold Makeover
Arguably one of the most recognizable elements of the House is its staple GG monogram print, which takes center stage once again when it comes to the bags in this collection. Bold, bright colors appear on easy-to-wear totes reimagined with a zig-zag-patterned background and color combinations unique to the specific warm-weather havens where each piece is exclusively sold. Of course, raffia details are present throughout, and other bags are shown in all-over straw with fun details.
The Ultimate Luxury Souvenir
Bags, sunglasses, hats, and beach blankets make up the exclusive part of the collection, available locally in the city name inscribed on the bag (as well as on Gucci.com). Each color palette is meant to be a narrative from its owners’ journey and travel experience, becoming the ultimate luxury memento from a dream vacation. The collection is presented in a series of campaign images that present mini dioramas of each resort destination. Discover more below.
I would love to love Gucci more, but just about everything is SO insanely cheap looking/ feeling. Blondie is great, some RTW is good…but overall the BAGS are just horrific quality.
I love their RTW too and i feel the same about their bags. Not a fan.
Agree. Even if the quality is there, the look is bargain basement.
Commas before “and”. Why are they there?
An Oxford comma is always a smart* choice.
*smart: appealing to sophisticated tastes : characteristic of or patronized by fashionable society (Merriam-Webster)
So many choices! Hmmm, which bag do I carry for standing in line four hours at the airport, having my flight cancelled at the last minute, sleeping on the airport floor, and then finally being rerouted to my destination with two additional plane changes? And is the bag I choose big enough to carry my essentials plus extra changes of clothes since my checked-in bag will be lost somewhere along the way by the airline’s code-share partner?
Time for you stop flying commercial and start flying private like the rest of us.
