Check Out Gucci’s Brand New Bags in the Brand’s Just-Released Fall 2018 Lookbook

Notable new bags include a tote addition to the popular Marmont line

If you need a break from thinking about, planning, and shopping for the holidays, we have just the fantasy land to escape into: the Gucci Pre-Fall 2018 lookbook, which is chock full of the company’s signature, ultra-detailed handbags and accessories. Like all of Alessandro Michele’s Gucci work before it, this one isn’t a separate set of ideas than his previous collections, but rather a near-seamless expansion of those ideas.

The collection and lookbook were inspired by the work of Roman film director Dario Argento, who is most well-known for his 70s and 80s horror movies. The lookbook’s photos were indeed shot in Rome, and many of them have a vaguely ominous quality about them, like they’re stills from the most stylish suspense thriller of all time. The vibe isn’t oppressive, though, and in any case, the predominant vibe in any of the brand’s collections is always going to be “Gucci.”

As for the bags themselves, there aren’t many huge new debuts here, but rather new versions and fabrications of existing designs and lines. The most notable is a new shopping tote version of the Marmont, which will undoubtedly be popular with celebrities and shoppers alike. Take a look at the bags from the lookbook below.
