About nine years ago, before having either of my kids, I obsessed over a conundrum: which Givenchy Antigona to buy. I polled readers, posted about it multiple times, and finally bought a light pink Antigona after far more thought and consideration than the question itself probably needed.
Side note: I had to mention this was before kids because while I still put a lot of thought into my purchases, my focus and time have entirely shifted to bills that involve our children, like school and activities. My, things have changed!
The Antigona is a bag that I’ve had a long relationship with. As I started with, I loved it from the moment it was first introduced, and I went back and forth and sideways, figuring out which version would suit me best. I found some flaws in functionality for how the bag sat and worked on me, but it never took away from the fact that aesthetically, this is a design that I love.
A Mini Update
The Givenchy Antigona Cube was recently launched. It is a refresh on an important bag design that reduces the dimensions while retaining all of the distinguishing design elements.
Plus, there is an assortment of fun colors like metallic raspberry and silvery grey!
This bag is intended as your smaller carryall, working for daily use or evenings, which is nice. It’s a nano size, with dimensions of 6.69 in x 5.51 in x 4.33 in, and offers the recognizable modular cube shape thanks to the origami-style gusset construction.
The shoulder strap is both adjustable and removable, which allows for different ways to carry and wear, changing the design altogether. Inside, you will find the main compartment with one card slot.
Not seeing the bag in person, I am not certain exactly what will fit inside (namely, I always like to test which phone fits), but this tiny bag is utterly cute and brings me back to nearly a decade ago when one of the biggest issues I was facing at one point was which color of its larger predecessor to purchase.

ok, these are so cute. But like, so basic that I don’t know why I’d pay 2k for any of them besides paying for the logo.
It’s not just the logo. You are paying for quality and everything is attention to details. Moreover, it is a classic piece. The leather that Givenchy uses are of a high grade. It is such an investment piece coz it’s timeless, versatile and long lasting. I have other bags from LV, Prada and Channel and Versace but I have to say Givenchy has the best quality.
Unlike LV, at least you are getting genuine leather coz you are probably paying a similar amount for canvas while Chanel is in a different price bracket. I have 4 antigonas in different colours and I loved it.
You are drinking the Kool-Aid.
This was my exact thought. These are cute but not at all striking or interesting. We need the design houses to do better. No one is paying $2k for…so so.
Sometimes you need to see it on person. Something which has a striking design might not be long lasting. Unless you are one of those that buys a designer bag every month. For most of us that buys one designer bag once a year, we prefer something simple which is versatile and long lasting. A simple design is always a safe choice
I’m such an Antigona girlie, I need the pink one!
I am the same.
Such a boring bag. Givenchy needs to do better.
It has been quite a while since I even thought about Givenchy products. This article has not made me want to buy any of the bags shown but it does make me want to check out Givenchy products again in person at their store(s) in Paris.
