The minute Halloween ends, it means the holidays are upon us. Don’t blame me; I am not trying to rush the holidays; it brings me great stress (along with excitement) in a short time frame to get everything in order with the holiday season. I’d rather take a beat to unpack Halloween, rest, and then move along. But the marketing industry won’t let that happen when there is money to be made, so here we are!
One of the easiest first purchases to kick off the holiday season, which also makes for a great hostess gift, is an Advent Calendar. I also get my kids one every year (I have a selection of kids’ Advent Calendars at the bottom!), and it becomes part of our daily routine as we countdown the days until Christmas.

Kids Advent Calendars for 2024
I have purchased a Lego Advent Calendar for my kids for the past few years. It becomes such an exciting part of our countdown (and it has led to a few tears as they work to understand that they can’t open every box just because they want to). I’ve found the chocolates don’t last long in this house, so we stick with the legos! If you are braver than I am, go for the slime!
