I am certain that I am not alone in my proclamation that the holidays have snuck up on me at a speed that I cannot make sense of. It could be that Thanksgiving fell later this year, or that life with young kids only gets busier, not more relaxed, or that my work plate is fuller than it was in previous years, but somehow, in this perfect storm, I find myself looking at Christmas being just a few days away.

And with that, it is time that I sit down and share my wish list for this Christmas. My list could be far longer, but this year, I went into my closet and wanted to make sense of what I have, what I’m using, what I’ve seen from brands, and what would not only fill a void but also bring me that level of bag excitement from my early days in this industry that I seek.

I wish you all a very joyful, safe, healthy, and family- and friend-filled holiday and New Year!

Prada Aimée

Since its introduction, the Prada Aimée has been a bag on my wish list. It’s inherently Prada in every way and brings a beautifully casual, slouchy look to the overall body. When I was in my closet over the weekend, I realized something: I don’t own a single animal print bag. I wouldn’t necessarily opt for an animal print bag if it were meant to be my daily carry, but for a bag collector like myself, this is such an ideal addition to my collection.

As a true bag accessories girl, I’d opt to jazz my bag up with a Prada Bear trick, because, truly, why not! I would also take this little lady and switch her from bag to bag, most likely give her a name, and delight that she was mine.

Alaïa Ballet Flats in Fishnet

I’ve used the excuse of not being a shoe girl to neglect that area of my wardrobe, and shoes are an actual necessity. I love sneakers, like LOVE sneakers, so most days you will find me in a pair of casual but cool sneakers, however, I realized a large void in my shoe closet. I need more flats that can work for a dressier look without being a full sandal.

Call me basic, but I really still love the Alaïa Ballet Fishnet Flats. I know, I know, I am incredibly late to the trend, but I love it. Not only am I not a shoe girl, I am surely not a heel girl, and I want a shape that doesn’t make my feet feel trapped and uncomfortable, so I’ve decided these could work. I am open to suggestions below from the bag and shoe ladies!

Hermès Mahjong Game

Like I said, I think my 40s is leading me into some sort of ‘basic’ era if you will. Granted, I don’t call it that because I believe that as we change, our interests change as well. This year I learned Mahjong, and it’s become one of my favorite games to play when I have a bit of time with my friends. It’s really given me such a great activity with my friends and a bit more me time, even if it makes my brain feel like it might explode at times.

I am not sure I could do something more lux whip out this Hermès Mahj set when my friends come over next time. A girl can dream!

Chanel Mini 25 Bag

One bag that really made it onto my radar and stayed there all year long is the Chanel Mini 25 Bag. I couldn’t quit this bag. As someone who loves pockets, storage and a classic twist, this bag offers it all. And while it is very Chanel, it is still new and modernized, not the bag you see on every corner. I also call 2025 my year of deep suede obsession, so I would opt for this bag in the lavendar or yellow suede, which is perfect for my South Florida living.

Dior Small Glasses

I was recently at a friend’s house, where they hosted us for dinner and had the most gorgeous table settings. It was mix matched brands with bold patterns, bright colors, and beautiful glasses and stemware. I don’t think I ever thought I’d get to this place, but I am here, really pining after some Dior tablescapes. I like the idea of a few standout pieces versus an entire Dior table, and these glasses are stunning and moody in their own way.

Unfortunately, Prada’s determination to keep their manufacturing practices as opaque as possible after years of investigations determining that many of their goods are made in sweatshops under horrific conditions make me unwilling to spend money at Prada.

them and miu miu I can’t get behind

Lorelei

Prada is Miu Miu.

I do love that Prada bag especially in the leopard print but the prices are past the point of insanity.

Agree Prada is overpriced for what it is. I have the galleria bag circa 2016 and while it’s still in good condition it feels like a Michael Kors at 100 times the price. Totally overpriced brand for what it is.

I love the set of glasses 😍

Prada aimee is also on my list, maybe next year. Happy Holidays to the team at Purseblog!
