Right on cue and following the recent timelines of its last two big bag pushes, the 19 bag and the 22 bag, Chanel introduces its next big launch: the Chanel 25.
Commemorating Chanel’s big return to the Grand Palais last October, we got a first glimpse at the multi-pocketed, slouchy new carryall on the Spring/Summer 2025 runway. Models carried the new shape in two sizes, shown in neutral shades and pretty pastels alike.
The Chanel 25 Bag: a New House Icon
Now, Chanel is teasing us with some intel on the cool new carry, which isn’t just any runway bag but the House’s next big icon. A film premiering late last week, starring Dua Lipa, introduces the talented singer/songwriter as the face of the new Chanel 25 handbag.
An icon of a new generation of fashion lovers, the film chronicles a day in Dua Lipa’s life, traipsing around town with the Chanel 25 in tow. The film, which is inspired by the energy of music videos, captures the essence of the bag, embodying the freedom of movement and self-expression that runs through Chanel’s DNA.
The Chanel 25, which is undeniably more casual and youthful but with a sophisticated spin, revisits the House’s most emblematic codes, like diamond quilting and an interlaced chain. Multiple exterior pockets not only add a bold stylistic touch but also enhance the bag’s functionality.
The full campaign will launch in March, coinciding with the Spring 2025 collection launch which also hits stores in March 2025.
Absolutely love this bag. Does anyone knows the price for this bag?
Dua crushed this campaign! I love the way this bag looks under the arm but the top of it…I just can’t get my head around it? Looks annoying to get things in and out of, is it open or does it have a zip for securuty?
I’ve seen this bag at the boutique, not my cup of tea. The quality doesn’t look like a Chanel bag, or what I think a Chanel bag should be for that kind of price.
Speaking of Chanel bag quality, I have a brand new shopping tote that crumbled in. Chanel refused to fix it even though it’s under warranty. It’s a brand new bag and looks horrible. So disappointed with the Chanel customer service esp at these price points!
Anyone else think this looks like the Loewe Hammock? This is starting to feel like all those Michael Kors bags that copy every other fashion houses’ designs but plastering MK over it or crossing it over with other houses’ design elements… Not loving it… Dua Lipa looks stunning though – Chanel R2W looks great on her.
My first thought as well! Except the Chanel 25 looks odd from certain angle while the Hammock is designed to look unique/ architectural from both front look/ profile
It looks like a fancy diaper bag to me. Sippy cup pockets on the side & everything
The campaign is fun and youthful. Dua looks beautiful as always. It is more about her than the bag, though. The bag without her is meh…
Dua is beautiful but this bag style is unattractive
Reminds me a bit of the Lindy 26 from Hermes.
But cuter. The Lindy looks like a diaper with handles.
I’d just caution paying Chanel prices, you’d expect great customer service. I had a brand new shopping tote that looks awful (sides crumbled in) and Chanel basically won’t help! Warranty doesn’t cover etc. I just want to caution others based on my experience—not only was the quality not good but Chanel wouldn’t help and make it right (and I had been a very good customer!).
So you’ve repeated numerous times on numerous threads.
Why so nasty? Anna can post however many times she wants. If it bothers you, just ignore it.
I’ve been overwhelmed by the kind helpful responses like yours, Laura W. Believe your helpful insight was a bag I paid $7000 at Chanel DC City Center was a fake. Would you like my warranty number? Sorry for wanting to warn others after I paid so much money and Chanel won’t fix a bag and honor the warranty (a brand new bag!). All I’ve discovered on this site is people can’t tell a real Chanel bag from a fake.
I mean, you can warn me all I want but I am still going to buy Chanel. You are just wasting your own time and energy.
I can understand and would’ve felt the same way until my recent Chanel customer service experience and quality issues.
So disappointing
I love the bag and the way Dua rocks it. Is this lambskin? I believe bags are meant to be worn, and that leather is too delicate for a casual every day bag.
Love the campaign and Dua, but agreed not sure about the bag. I remember being in my early 20s when the cambon line came out and it was s fresh and young and free of the gold chains which I felt made the bags look old on young women. (Wish I had stockpiled classic flaps then!) I lusted on the cambon until I bought one, only $1200 at the time! I feel like this campaign is trying to capture this but without the fresh and fun bags. Not loving the style and having carried a diaper bag when my kids were young I’m not interested in carrying a smaller version of one now. Chanel is lost without Karl… I hope for better with the new designer coming in as Chanel will always have a special place in my heart.
That bag is ugly. I’m not a trendy person, but this looks dated.
Finally something new and different from Chanel. This bag is every travelers, busy body, on the go and I need my life with me persons dream. It’s edgy, super lux, screams Chanel with the quilt stitching. Interchain loop strap, cc embellished house codes. The shape is great and seems to change based on how tight you claps the cc. Love it in the grey suede
Happy Women’s Day of 8 March 2025 Congratulations to Leena Nair and the CHANEL team to launch Handbag 25 with the hip of New York Manhattan amplified
by beautiful, talented & smart Dua Lipa in the Gordon von Steiner film. Top!
