The thing about New York is that celebrities really are just like us. While yes, paparazzi can catch them from time to time, it’s not unusual to see stars “in the wild” doing the exact same things that you’re doing.
From Emily Ratajakowski, who was wining and dining right next to me at a buzzy new wine bar, to Gwenyth Paltrow, who was standing down the bar from me on the opening night of one of my neighborhood’s new spots, like every New Yorker, I’ve had my fair share of celeb run-ins.
Last week, I narrowly missed another run-in with none other than Dakota Johnson, who had been shopping at natural beauty boutique Credo Beauty earlier in the day than I had (my sources revealed as I sat getting my makeup done).
I’m sorry I missed her because she was wearing this simple but chic outfit that day, and I would have loved to see it IRL. What I can tell you is that I will be emulating this look very, very soon, despite the fact that I own neither a fur coat of this kind nor a brown suede bag.
The Perfect Fall Fit
Her look is simple but undeniably chic, in an ‘I’m not trying too hard’ way. She paired sleek straight-leg jeans with a cozy fur coat, Toteme’s fan-favorite boots, and a bag that checks all the right boxes this season: The Row’s Bindle Bag.
Quiet-luxury favorite The Row continues to have a major moment this year, and its oversized, relaxed Bindle Bag strikes the perfect balance of style and function. Not to mention, suede continues to reign in the bag world. While Dakota carries an older version of the shape, The Bindle continues to capture many of the season’s bag trends in one perfect silhouette.
