Bottega Veneta’s Wardrobe 02 Is a Maximalist’s Dream

Daniel Lee nails the art of post-pandemic dressing

For many designers, taking over the reigns at a beloved luxury brand comes with many challenges. While it sometimes can be a couple of seasons before the transition is seamlessly seen, for Daniel Lee at Bottega Veneta, the adjustment seemed to happen overnight, with the brand quickly modernizing. Lee seamlessly married old Bottega’s heritage with his new vision for the brand, creating fan-favorite shapes all the while.

Today, the brand is giving us a look at Lee’s latest for Pre-Fall 2021, dubbed Wardrobe 02, the collection nails the art of post-pandemic dressing. The vibe overall is a maximalist’s dream, featuring feathers, sequins, plush fabrics and more. Though it’s worth noting that there are some more toned-down and tailored pieces if you prefer that your bag be the standout piece of your outfit.

Speaking of bags, many are works of art themselves. There are intricate versions of Bottega’s newest hit, The Point, like a hot pink version in woven leather as well as one that is dressed in big matte sequins. BV’s top handle mini bag is seen in purple, coated in what resembles candied dots, carried alongside a dress with the same unique detailing.

When it comes to newness, there’s The Mount line, which features a few different shapes. The Mount crossbody comes in two sizes and combines elements of fan-favorite BV bags like a chunky chain, and a pointy flap closure.
