For many designers, taking over the reigns at a beloved luxury brand comes with many challenges. While it sometimes can be a couple of seasons before the transition is seamlessly seen, for Daniel Lee at Bottega Veneta, the adjustment seemed to happen overnight, with the brand quickly modernizing. Lee seamlessly married old Bottega’s heritage with his new vision for the brand, creating fan-favorite shapes all the while.

Today, the brand is giving us a look at Lee’s latest for Pre-Fall 2021, dubbed Wardrobe 02, the collection nails the art of post-pandemic dressing. The vibe overall is a maximalist’s dream, featuring feathers, sequins, plush fabrics and more. Though it’s worth noting that there are some more toned-down and tailored pieces if you prefer that your bag be the standout piece of your outfit.

Speaking of bags, many are works of art themselves. There are intricate versions of Bottega’s newest hit, The Point, like a hot pink version in woven leather as well as one that is dressed in big matte sequins. BV’s top handle mini bag is seen in purple, coated in what resembles candied dots, carried alongside a dress with the same unique detailing.

When it comes to newness, there’s The Mount line, which features a few different shapes. The Mount crossbody comes in two sizes and combines elements of fan-favorite BV bags like a chunky chain, and a pointy flap closure. View more from the collection below and you can also pre-order the collection now via Bottega Veneta.

The craftsmanship is superb and the materials look so luxurious. That said, I don’t see myself carrying any of these bags.

i cannot tell what is happening in that pic with the yellow . . . dress? Is the bag wearing the model? Is the bag wearing the dress? there’s tan streak of . . . is it the bag? I’m confused.

It’s the wooden-like handle of the bag. It’s just an ugly oversized bag of you’re confused.

I’m gonna be shocked if I don’t see Kylie Jenner in that green dress and the mules sometime soon.

Some of the bags do look great, but the prices are insane. I would not spend $7500 for that cabas in photo pair 4 (it’s also a smidge too big). As for the light purple bag in the next photo, I would far rather get a similar bag from Tissa Fontaneda. Same great made-in-Europe craftsmanship, cool designs, and it’s an under-the-radar luxury brand with much more real-world prices. I saw several of their bags at the 76 store in Bern (Switzerland) a few weeks ago and was really impressed. They really need to be seen and handled in person, the quality just radiates. PurseBlog, take a look! https://eu.tissafontaneda.com/

They don’t ship to the U.S.A., per their website.

This is a fun, colorful, well designed collection! If I had money to burn I’d buy all of them!
