Few brands are under as watchful of an eye amongst fashionistas as Bottega Veneta these days. As fans anxiously wait for Matthieu Blazy’s debut collection for fall 2022 to hit stores, the last collection pre-Blazy just dropped. While typically, Bottega Veneta debuts its Pre-Fall collections in a series of lookbook images (in fact, that’s how Daniel Lee made his debut) this collection, dubbed Wardrobe 04, makes its first appearance on Bottega Veneta’s website. We’ve got a look at new bags from the collection, which are currently available for pre-order. Spoiler alert: they’re good.
The Cassette Expands
First introduced during Lee’s inaugural collection, the Cassette has become a new House staple, modeled after an old. The Cassette takes Bottega Veneta’s iconic Intrecciato weave and magnifies it, creating an exaggerated weave that has become integral to modern-day Bottega. For Wardrobe 04, The Cassette line expands once again, with a few new silhouettes that feel fresh but quintessentially Bottega Veneta. There’s the Brick Cassette, which is a top-zipped shoulder bag take on the original, arriving in three shades perfect for the fall season. Then, there’s a shoulder bag, which is the Cassette’s take on the Loop bag, shown in two sizes and a myriad of stunning colors. Standout new shades include a gorgeous light purple called Wisteria, a very on-trend pistachio hue called Travertine, and a bold pink which BV calls Cranberry.
Introducing the Cobble Bag
If you’re looking for newness altogether, look no further than the Cobble Bag, which is a classic take on BV Intrecciato modernized with clean lines and a crisp shape. Featuring a flap closure, unlined body, and one zip pocket on the bag’s front, the Cobble is a stunning take on the classic flap shoulder bag, Botteg-ified. It’s shown in neutral colors like burgundy, dark brown, and caramel, retailing for $4,600. Beyond that, there are other iterations of fan-favorite bags in a myriad of colors and sizes. …love the Brick Cassette, but why only three colors???
What’s funny is that people don’t realize that the maxi weave is cheaper to produce than the standard weaving. Less time consuming as the strands are huge and aren’t as labor intensive to put together.
I prefer the silhouette of the prior cassette bags. While gorgeous, I do feel the price is quite high for such a small bag. Although I suppose prices for everything have skyrocketed.
I love the beauty, structure and over-all look of this bag! 👛❤️
The Cobble bag at $4600.00, I would rather get another Chanel. The Cassette bag however, I kinda like it! It appears to be a big enough crossbody to hold my essential but not so big that it looks awkward on.
ouette of the prior cassette bags. While gorgeous, I do feel the price is quite high for such a small bag.
