Versace Takes It Down a Notch With Its Pre-Fall 2021 Bags

Bold colors and pretty pastels pave the way for nudes and neutrals too...

Versace’s spring 2021 collection was full of bold bags in vibrant colors and while it felt so quintessentially Versace, speaking to the typical cast of characters that Donatella Versace usually designs for, like the Gigi Hadids and Kendall Jenners of the world, for pre-fall 2021, the designer decided to switch gears. “The collection is dedicated to all those men and women who are self-confident, aware of who they are, authentic. It’s a celebration of individual identity and personality. Fashion and style become even more a way to express one’s own ideas.” Donatella Versace told Vogue, of her transition to design for the everyday fashionistas among us in this pandemic world we find ourselves in.

“The collection is dedicated to all those men and women who are self-confident, aware of who they are, authentic. It’s a celebration of individual identity and personality. Fashion and style become even more a way to express one’s own ideas.”

When it comes to the bags, the collection features a solid lineup of wearable silhouettes, slightly toned down, though most were carried over from collections of the past. The brand’s medusa head logo top handle bag was seen in various bold hues for spring and makes an appearance for pre-fall as well, again appearing with a monochromatic medusa head in mostly neutrals like black, tan and olive green as well as a few pops of color.

A notable, clean new design features a sleek, 90s-like silhouette with a short shoulder strap (bearing resemblance to the Gucci Jackie) and also is finished with a medusa head. This bag appears to come in two sizes and is shown in black and muted pastels in addition to bolder hues of green and red. Overall a solid lineup of wearable bags for the everyday, take a look below at bags from this collection.
