Versace Debuts a New Bag on the Runway for Fall 2025

“What is Versace without Donatella?” Vogue’s Nicole Phelps mused amidst the growing rumors that Versace is up for sale, leaving the future of the House currently helmed by Donatella Versace in question. Whether Versace’s Fall 2025 show was a final bow for this chapter of the brand is unclear, but what is crystal clear is how very Versace, and how very Donatella, the collection was.

That aforementioned DNA is unmistakably present, with clear nods to Versace’s heritage seen throughout the collection. Bold motifs in classic brand hues like black, gold, and red marry the past with the present, seen throughout in interesting new shapes and classic silhouettes alike.

A New Bag Joins the Versace Virtus Family

Meanwhile, amidst a sea of quintessentially Versace ready-to-wear, a new bag is debuted for the Fall 2023 season. Emulating the collection’s overall themes, the half-moon-shaped silhouette arrives in an array of fun colors and patterns with embellished versions echoing Versace’s storied DNA.

The bag joins the Versace Virtus family, and it is fitted with the same unmistakable V that is emblazoned on other bags from the line. This time, it is, arguably, a bit more subtle, shadowing the leather buckle fitted to the front flap; it’s almost mistaken as a detail of the closure.

The bag is meant to move with you and is said to create a rocking movement when worn; it plays off of the same themes of movement and freedom of expression that inspired Donatella’s ready-to-wear designs.

Worn over the shoulder or clutched by hand, this new silhouette perfectly marries Versace’s striking DNA with a spin that feels both relevant and a bit more classic than its other bags.
