I love when a new trend emerges on the handbag scene. When Bottega Veneta added a chunky chain to their hit Cassette bag, it was love at first sight for me. I am a sucker for interesting and bold hardware, and naturally I fell hard and fast for the chain hardware trend. It seemed that after the Chain Cassette bag became another mega hit for Bottega Veneta, bold chain hardware started gaining momentum. After Bottega Veneta’s addition of a chunky chain to their it-bag Pouch, chain bags are the new must-have accessory. Suddenly chain bags have been dominating the handbag world and saturating the market. I’m not complaining, this is a fashion bandwagon that I am more than happy to jump on.
Last fall, Kaitlin predicted that an influx of chunky chain handbags would be emerging from designers, and she sure was right.
