Puffer and Quilted Bags Are Making a Comeback This Fall

Here's another upcoming trend to keep on your radar

Another week, another new trend! As we approach fall, we have our eyes on another oldie but goodie style: Quilted and puffer bags. You know, the bags that basically double as pillows. That’s what I like to call function at its finest. I digress, though.

In all seriousness, quilted and puffer bags are making a comeback in a very big way this year. While Gucci, Chanel, and Saint Laurent have produced numerous leather quilted pieces in the last couple of years, we’re now seeing designers including Valextra, Balmain, Givenchy, and Salvatore Ferragamo create their own versions as well.

Suffice to say, puffer and quilt aren’t just reserved for winter jackets or Gucci shoulder bags. I must say, however, that though this trend is something to keep your eye on, I haven’t exactly proclaimed my support just yet. I tend to lean towards bags with sleek, clean lines. But if I had to jump on the bandwagon, I’d probably go for the Saint Laurent or Bottega Veneta listed below.

Bottega Veneta Padded Cassette Crossbody Bag ($2,480)

Dries Van Noten Metallic Crinkle Shoulder Bag ($1,245)

Balmain Twist Quilted Lambskin Crossbody Bag ($2,395)

Alexander McQueen Small Quilted Patent Flat Knuckle Clutch Bag ($2,090)

Valextra Iside Quilted Leather Top-Handle Bag ($3,450)

Givenchy Mini Pocket Quilted Convertible Leather Bag ($995)

Saint Laurent Monogram Vicky Patent Leather Camera Bag ($1,850)

Marc Jacobs Snapshot Quilted Leather Camera Bag ($450)

Rebecca Minkoff Edie Quilted Patent Leather Shoulder Bag ($348)

Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Soft Studs Shoulder Bag ($2,300)
