The Chloé Drew was introduced in 2014, at the height of the blogging era. Designed by Clare Waight Keller, the bag was an integral part of mid-to late-2010s fashion. Its rounded silhouette and distinct turnlock closure, with a hanging chain detail, made it an instant hit.
Waight Keller’s Chloé was one of the brand’s most beloved eras, reminiscent of the earliest days of the Chloé brand. She emphasized an easy, distinctly bohemian, and undeniably feminine aesthetic, not far from the Chloé that Chemena Kamali has returned to today.
Enter: The #ChloéGirl
It was during Waight Keller’s time that Chloé embraced its girl gang of fans, coining them Chloé Girls. The hashtag #ChloéGirls was a viral moment and, in many ways, pioneered the influencer sphere as we know it today. If you were a Chloé Girl in the late 2010s, your go-to accessory was a Chloé Drew bag.
The bag, which was one of Waight Keller’s biggest hits for Chloé, was a viral sensation, returning season after season. Novelty iterations rounded out carry-over colors and were highly sought after. There were bi-color versions, printed options like leopard, studded suede, mixed-media iterations, and more.
A Bag That Defined an Era
The bag resonated not only because it was undeniably beautiful, refined, and chic, but also because of Chloé’s distinct brand DNA, with options to suit every mood. In 2017, Natacha Ramsay-Levi joined the Maison, but despite changing hands, the Chloé Drew proved its staying power.
Still, like every bag, the Drew ran its course, losing traction and quietly disappearing from the Chloé line-up in the early 2020s. Today, I’m here to remind you that the Chloé Drew was, and still is, a beautiful bag. After musing last year that it was time we all started wearing our old bags, I did just that over the weekend—pulling out my Chloé Drew and taking her for a stroll on a warm early-spring Sunday.

A Case for the Comeback
My mood was instantly elevated as I reveled in the nostalgia of another time in my life, and the Chloé of yesteryear, which has returned under the direction of Chemena Kamali. With visions of Kamali’s Fall 2026 show still replaying in my mind, this is my official plea for the Chloé Drew’s return.
Twelve years after it was first introduced, the Maison has returned to its roots, and there is no time like the present to bring back a bag that feels so true to Chloé’s brand DNA.

Don’t bring it back. Just do it! If you invested and saved and loved a bag enough to purchase it, just wear it with no shame and absolute pride whatever decade and whatever is supposedly “in” or “out”.
I’ve been wearing it all week since I took her out – totally agree!! It was (and still is) a beautiful bag!
sigh
