Let’s be real here. We all know what the Alice.D Leather Totes are: they’re cheaper Céline Vertical Cabas Totes, and if you aren’t a fan of the whole look-for-less concept, they’re not going to be your thing. If you don’t want to pay four figures for an extremely simple leather tote, though, Alice.D will get the job done for you in exactly the same aesthetically pleasing way as Celine would for around $500.

Alice.D goes so far as to print its name on the tote in the exact same way as Céline, which is a detail that should be left to the original, but the brand also adds a bit of functionality where Céline forgoes it in favor of minimalism – the bag has both an optional shoulder strap and a large internal pocket.

That the look can be recreated with the same luxurious feel at a much lower price does a lot to illustrate the ridiculousness of Céline’s pricing for their simple totes, and I wouldn’t blame anyone who likes those bags for scooping up one of these instead. Our favorite colors are below, but the bag can be found in even more versions at ShopBop.

I agree the price point on the Celine Cabas is crazy for what it is, and true I do not own one (right now I’m still obsessed with acquiring mini, micro and nano luggage totes like its a disease, help) but there is something about owning a Celine that makes you happy, regardless of whether anyone else knows you are carrying a Celine or not, that I think I would lose if I purchased the Alice.D bags, or any other of the multitude of Celine knock-offs. Yes, you can say it, I am drinking the Celine kool-aid. Happily.

Other than the typeface and the vertical shape, I don’t really get the comparison between the two bags. I don’t think anyone looking to recreate the Celine Cabas look would gravitate towards this bag.
