Prada Outdoors Debuts at the Miami Design District Store

If you want a Prada themed beach item, now is your chance

Fashion is intended to take us to a different place, allowing us to express ourselves while also providing wonder and joy. And Prada is here to be part of that escape, with its Prada Outdoors installation experience pop-up shops and in-store installations around the world. Just launched at Prada Miami Design District Store (my home store, can’t wait to go check it out!) is a beach themed Prada Outdoor experience complete with sand dunes, rocks, white and ocean-blue tents and sunshades.

This experiences is meant to transport you to a sunny day at the beach, surrounded by everything Prada. We are talking terry bathrobes, Re-nylon beachwear, crocheted tunics, perforated Nappa leather bomber jackets, and shirts with contrasting double prints. There are simplistic white t-shirts that prove to be anything but simple, with a net of crystals to give the vibe of a starry night, and there are elegant chiffon slip dresses with sequins to play off of glistening ocean water. The men’s side shows a similar attire, with casual terry garments and Bermuda shorts in stretch poplin with bright block colors. Black and white sweatshirts with a three-dimensional Prada logo, a sort of new Prada uniform, round out the men’s offerings.

Of course the accessories are what I am drawn to most, and there’s a wide range of materials. Some of the bags that are part of this installation are in terrycloth and woven straw, but we’ve seen these before. The bags are the highlight, with other options including mini bags made of wicker and other house staples in new coastal materials. If you are one of those people that live for designer extra-curricular products (count me in this group), you can find beach balls, inflatable rings and mattresses, terry beach towels and cushions, and lunch sets with sandwich boxes and water bottles all with a Prada logo and touch. There are also surfboards with a nylon cover, rackets, skateboards, frisbees, and beach volleyballs, all of which are sure to quickly become collector’s items being shown like artwork in various fashion lover’s homes around the world. See more below or visit the pop-up now through July 12.
