Like most fashion brands, Prada has gone through many iterations of change in its over a century of business. What began as a family business with humble beginnings in Milan, Italy is now a multi-billion dollar empire known world wide for its timeless quality and classic appeal. This year Prada has focused on change and transformation more than ever, naming Raf Simons as co-creative director of the brand.
This unlikely duo has already begun to refresh the brand, and though it didn’t necessarily need reviving, everything that’s come out of the hands of Mrs. Prada and Simons has been nothing short of noteworthy. So far the pair has done an impeccable job at combining iconic House codes with modern edge, creating silhouettes that are somehow timeless and of the moment at the same time.
Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons are in line to become one of the most celebrated pairs of modern fashion, putting a completely different perspective on Prada for the next generation of fashion and handbag lovers. Proving that there’s power in the Prada, and who wouldn’t want that? The Prada of today showcases exactly what it means to be a Prada girl (or guy)— that timeless, classic silhouettes can also be functional and fashionable.
The pieces we’ve seen are utilitarian, yet chic and wearable but fashion-forward. With everything that’s coming out of the House there’s never been a better time to be a Miranda Priestly. I’m loving everything from Prada right now and I’m not afraid to sing its praises. Below are some of my favorite pieces from Prada right now.
This collaboration is the reason I’m taking a second look at Prada; it’s practical and fashion forward.

Totally agree with Prada being a great house, and have some great bags. Would also agree that Raf has made some major changes. Would not agree that they were for the better though. His men’s collection was just Raf Simons with a Prada logo. The Prada aspects were great, the raf aspects were not.
LOVE PRADA SHOES!!!!!
