Unfortunately, when it comes to midseason collections, most designers don’t see fit to throw accessory-lovers a photographic bone. Because the shows aren’t held together with any type of unifying event, brands release their own media images instead of allowing outside photographers, and outside photographers almost always do a better job of showing us the bags and shoes. We end up getting the short shrift when all media outlets are given the same photo set.
Because Louis Vuitton is a company founded on leather goods, though, it does a better job than most at making sure that its bags are front and center. We have all of the bags from Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection, plus two ornate feather fans that probably aren’t bags but I will continue hope might be until expressly told otherwise. (Please, Louis Vuitton, let them be bags.) Full photos, after the jump.

Ok I guess I am just feeling very contrary today, because I am genuinely feeling the total opposite of the other posters…I love these! With the obvious exception of that feathered nightmare, the others are pretty good! I am loving the large satchel with the gray, navy, and teal panels. Perhaps I am just tickled that the season’s colors are the ones I constantly wear anyway. I love teal, navy, plum and gray together. Adorable! (ipad)

are you sure these are LV bags? look like coach to me.. the shape of the first one with 16 next to it is very beautiful though! would love it more in epi leather.. or some kind of LV leather without their logo all over it.. i honestly hate the fact that LV has these monograms.. the bags are beautiful but it is to the point that everybody buys them for that logo & not the aesthetics of the bag. such a shame for these beautiful handbags.. I just don’t like patchwork. The shapes are lovely – they could be gorgeous, but patchwork always looks like someone was browsing the workshop, trying to figure out what to do with the leftover scraps, and then a marketing team figured out people might pay 3x as much if you just stuck them all together and called it LE.

I just saw these bags in person and they are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both #16 & #24; however the ONLY reson you see the navy on #24 is because it’s under lights. In real life the middle and end portion are hard to distinguish. #16 is drop dead gorgeous.
The clutch is gorgeous too, just beautiful; however the brass plate on the front is large and makes the bag veery heavy.
I think they are better in person.
Louis V has maintained that classic shape again, but utilizing the patchwork theme does not show that the house is willing to push the boundaries to offer unique creations.
