2024 marks an important year for Louis Vuitton and Nicolas Ghesquière, who celebrates a decade at the Maison. His recent collections have been an exploration of his work over the last decade—a celebration of creativity.
That celebration continues with Pre-Fall 2024, which Louis Vuitton brings to Shanghai, presenting its Women’s Voyager Show late last night. Furthering the art of creativity, Pre-Fall explores the idea of contrasts, with graphic patterns and bold colors juxtaposing refined, classic materials.
The Maison’s roots are reflected within the collection, which also reinvents Nicolas Ghesquière’s distinct designs over the last decade in fashion. Pieces are also an ode to Chinese youth culture and style, with bold elements and pops of color oozing vibrant energy.
An Odyssey of Artistic Expression
The Maison also partnered with contemporary artist Sun Yitian, whose signature playful animals appear throughout the collection on ready-to-wear and bags alike, enlivening the collection and taking pieces to the next level. While there are undeniable elements of classicism throughout, they are explored in exciting, unexpected ways.
Speaking of classics, the Maison’s cornerstone bags take center stage, appearing on the runway, but once again they are explored in fresh ways. Fan favorites like the OnTheGo, Capucines, and Dauphine are given a relaxed touch, while icons like the Petite Malle, Noé, and Side Trunk pay homage to the brand’s heritage roots.

You’re absolutely right. As a young and rich Chinese individual with the luxury of both time and resources, I’ll happily purchase all these seemingly tacky bags without a second thought. Feel free to harbor your envy and persist in your racist remarks.
Hahahhaha this is so good 😊
The trunk-style Speedy is very cool.
it looks like LV collaboration with Krusty Krab. lol
so Asian people look cheap and tacky is what you’re trying to say? got it.
Asian people look cheap and tacky to her or him because she or him self is cheap and tacky. Someone’s perception of others is a reflection of their own internal being. As Asian, I can’t speak for my entire community. But I’ll forgive this OP must be miserable stuck in such suffering and existence
To say something looks cheap simple because it doesn’t resonate with you is such a cheap tasteless tact…. Yikes if this is the type of people wearing lv I Prlly would choose not just so we dont look like you. But this runway has great items.
Except for maybe the Twist there is nothing I would spend money on. If I wanted a trunk I would buy a trunk, not the soft little bag with trunk details.
The huge Capucines is very attractive
too much hardware
I love the huge Capucines!
No denying that the puffy petite malle is simply adorable.
That Speedy Trunk reminds me of Krusty Krab, LOL. but the colorful puffy trunk looks cute and fresh.
I’d love anyone’s thoughts on number 22. It’s the soft Dauphine in a white color
I’m so excited for the bright yellow bag!
Love the speedy trunk but can’t imagine what the price will be. Also glad they are bringing back the normal sized backpack.
The cartoon bags do look tacky to me. But I’m an adult career woman and the last thing I need is a “mutton dressed like lamb” cartoon bag. They’re not clever or imaginative, they’re just juvenile. I’d be deeply embarrassed if caught carrying/wearing any of them (and I’m not an LV hater, I have multiple LV bags and SLGs that I truly like). But who knows, LV must believe there is a market for that niche.
