At Louis Vuitton It’s All About the Bigger the Better For Spring 2023

Epic proportions close out Paris Fashion Week

Earlier this week, Louis Vuitton presented its Spring 2023 collection, and it was a collection of epic proportions — literally. Nicolas Ghesquiere continues to explore the rich history and brand DNA of Louis Vuitton, and this season, he pays homage to its storied background in a larger-than-life way.

Show notes for the collection also explore femininity, which is emphasized and magnified through grand proportions. With the collection’s ready-to-wear, these themes are expressed through exaggerated zipper pulls and grandiose belt buckles showcased on dresses and tops.

This so-called “stylistic exercise” re-evaluates the traditional way in which we look at clothes, forcing the wearer (and the viewer) to look twice. As for the bags, they too, zoom in on the details, highlighting small but integral parts of House DNA. Locks, labels, monograms, and more are blown up, creating carryalls that tell a story (and make a statement).
