The Loewe Show Has Been Cancelled: Presenting a Show in News for Fall 2021

A detailed look at new bags and more from Loewe...

Originally scheduled to take place last week in Paris, Loewe cheekily announced that its Fall/Winter 2021 women’s runway show had been cancelled on the day it was supposed to have occurred. Instead, the brand presented a collection titled A Show in the News via a newspaper distributed around the globe by some of the world’s leading publications, including The New York Times, Le Monde in France, The Times of London and more, as well as a digital presentation on the brand’s website.

Creative director Jonathon Anderson was inspired by the more eccentric side to fashion, and this collection features bright bold colors, zig-zag prints, unique shapes and more. A happy, light collection for the post-pandemic world that lies ahead, it is meant to convey sheer joy and an electricity of design. Bold hues burst onto abstract silhouettes, and fresh iterations of fan-favorite bags pave the way for new shapes as well.

Loewe’s iconic artisanal craftsmanship collides with contemporary designs to make a statement. Graphic elements are the cornerstone of this collection, and the iconic and unmistakeable Puzzle bag is seen reimagined in colorful, abstract stripes.

Originally designed in 1975 and named after female warriors of Greek Mythology, the Amazona bag is reinvented for Fall in 3 sizes and a cool square shape. Appearing throughout, there are bright colors in soft calfskin as well as a logo jacquard version. Additionally, Fall brings the addition of a new Loewe icon: the Goya flap bag which is handcrafted in a range of eye-catching colors. Featuring elegant, clean lines, this classic shape is finished with hardware meant to posses a jewelry-like feel.
