Loving Lately: Loewe Pleated Puffer Goya Bag

Reimagined once again this season, this is the version I'm adding to my list

With the endless talk of quiet luxury, there’s really no better time to buy a Loewe bag. The perfect mix of contemporary meets classic, with that difficult-to-nail “if you know, you know” vibe, Loewe under Jonathon Anderson has hit its groove, and each season the bags are more and more coveted than the last.

Anderson has a knack for embracing Loewe’s heritage but doing so in a modern way with unique design elements that stand out from the luxury crowd. Once deemed structured and classic, the Goya bag has been reinvented in an on-trend puffy, padded silhouette, and this season it is expanded upon once again.

A new cornerstone design for the brand, the Puffer Goya continues to appear in new dimensions, sizes, colors, and materials. Loewe bags, as a whole, command attention thanks to their uniqueness and impeccable quality, and the latest version of the Puffer Goya Bag does just that.

A Second Look

First seen on the runway during the much-hyped Spring/Summer 2023 runway show, the latest version of the Puffer Goya bag is a touchable dream. The pillowy nature of the Puffer Goya Bag is tactile enough, but Jonathan Anderson takes it one step further this season, adding a stunning pleated shiny nappa lambskin version to the Loewe lineup.

Loewe Puffer Goya

The truest example of Loewe’s expertise in leathercraft, the Pleated Puffer Goya is crafted from lambskin that is cut and sewn and then woven by hand. The pillow element of the silhouette is emphasized by goose feather padding. It comes with a gold donut chain for an added dressed-up feel and a removable and adjustable leather strap. Available in black, olive green, yellow, and the stunning lilac purple hue that caught my eye, retail is $4,700 via Loewe.

While I’ve put a pause on my bag-buying for a bit, you know what they say, right…a girl can dream.
