Loewe’s Most Important Launch of 2021 Gets a Mini Makeover

Introducing the Amazona 16

Loewe Amazona 16

Loewe has steadily and consistently been making its mark on the handbag world under the direction of Jonathan Anderson. The brand’s desirability continues to grow, and while once it was more under-the-radar, beloved by mostly those in the know, these days it’s more mainstream than ever before. Known for its quality and attention to craft, each and every piece that Loewe releases oozes intense attention to detail.

Last year, the brand hopped on the archival revival train, re-releasing one of its most beloved bags, the Amazona. Its sharp, clean, and classic silhouette immediately felt poised for success. Originally launched in 1975, the iconic Amazona bag hit the scene once again late in 2021, reimagined with new dimensions and materials, but still focusing on Loewe’s unparalleled craftsmanship.

This year, fresh for the fall season, it is revamped once again, in a perfect square shape with even smaller proportions. If you love statement-making mini bags, buckle up, this one is for you!

The Mini, Mighty, Amazona 16

Named after female warriors of Greek Mythology, the Amazona 16 is mini, but true to its name, it still is mighty. With dimensions of 5.5″ x 6.3″ x 3.3,” it will fit a regular iPhone 13 inside, and an interior slit pocket allows for an ID, and credit cards, so you can skip the wallet and save some space. The Amazona is designed to be on-trend with its small proportions, but its soft, semi-structured shape allows for your necessities to comfortably fit inside.

Wear it with the crossbody strap for a hands-free, no fuss, barely there bag (it’s incredibly lightweight too!), or carry it daintily via the tiny top handles. Shown in soft, smooth Nappa calfskin ($2,650) and Loewe’s signature Anagram jacquard ($2,250), the options are perfect for fall, and I’ve got an orange crush on this one.

This bag is perfect to wear on its own for day or night, but I’d also pair it with one of this season’s big bags for days on the go. Discover more via Loewe.

Candee

Pam

Lauren

I love minis so I think it’s cute, but these prices for tiny bags make it hard to buy!

Dave

Relax, you’re not their target market

Joey

Cute , but I think the Price is to high for this bag. It’s not cute enough the pay 2500 for 🤷🏻‍♀️

popy

that why they withdrow from the market.

Katarina

What a boring looking bag!

Lisa

Not a fan…..

Amanda

It’s a cute bag. It reminds me of my orange AMQ bag with the shape and color. But the price point? Nope.
Who actually carries these mini bags unless you’re out for an evening? When I’m out and about during the day (whether at work, grocery store, airport, mall, etc) I don’t see anyone other than a college kid carrying a mini bag and they can’t afford these bags.
i wish this mini bag trend would die already.

Dave

I have the feeling that there are a lot of hicks that, not knowing Loewe as LV, think it has to be a cheap brand. And the quality of the leather and manufacture makes the bag still cheap compared to other best-known brands in the USA

Ugly Is a mini size is still ugly

Dave

Ugly?? That Is your opinion….

DoBetter

Psny always seems to be ugly

Nikki

Somehow I read this thinking of Tamra!

Yamaliz

Agree the price for that mini is ridiculous,Done with big bags that look like supermarket bags too!!cant stand big bags also they are just basic blah

Michelle Kerrigan

Not a fan and especially at that price point. Better off to spend the money on LV where it will hold its value. That bag should’ve been priced at 1600 Max.
