As I reported last October, after Hermès CFO Eric du Halgouet told reporters about the early 2023 price increase, there was lot of talk about exactly how much the increase would be and on which products. Predictions hovered at around 5-10% in general, with the reasons cited for the increase including higher production costs (which includes both raw resources and Hermès’ production growth in the form of new workshops and craftsperson hiring/training) and currency fluctuations.

Impressive Sales Performance in 2022

This followed the announcement that Hermès’ 3rd quarter sales were up about 24% to over $3 billion (Hermès’ 2022 sales increase for the year was about the same percentage).

Although Asia accounted for the largest portion of Hermès’ revenue – almost half, which sounds impressive until you realize that Hermès prices in Asia are by far the highest; items in Asia are priced at about 30% higher than the same items in the US and nearly 60% higher than the same items in Europe – demand was higher in every market, especially in the United States, which has seen both large market growth and sIG if isn’t infrastructure expansion, including multiple new boutique openings and a brand new New York City Flagship.

New Prices Revealed for 2023

Well, the new prices have arrived; at the start of the year for Europe and at the beginning of February for the United States. While for leather goods, the price increases did hover generally around 5-10%, in some cases, they were significantly higher.

Nope – Hermes has lost me with the price gouging. Sold my Birkin 25 recently and now selling my KTG. I would much rather spend my hard-earned money on Lora Piana, Tod’s, and other brands whose craftsmanship and quality match the price they sell their bags for. Hermes hoity-toity can keep their exclusivity and snobbish policies.

Lora Piana is wonderful but their RTW seldom seems to fit me well. I wish their cut was just a little different to compliment my figure.

I don’t see the Birkin 35. Are the prices going to remain the same? Otherwise, I feel that Hermes price increases are always reasonable compared to Chanel or other brands.

I’m sorry if this is off topic a bit I just was wondering about the Hermes bag piping materia I’ve looked a few places and couldn’t find what it’s made of ? It holds the bag together . does anyone know ? Need help because i have a hermes bag and looks real weight height stamps exact and everything else I got it from a friend who buys expensive bags and looking into this Hermes birkin bag I inherited a few months ago

In most cases, the piping is made from the same material as the rest of the bag (so, a Togo bag would have Togo piping; an exotic bag will have exotic piping, etc.).

Exceptions would perhaps include a special order with Multico options (search the forum), or a special edition such as the Faubourg 20.

It is likely your bag’s piping is made from the same material as the bag itself.
