The Evelyne bag has been a staple in the Hermès line-up since 1978. Designed to be a lightweight bag that prioritized function, the Evelyne was initially created to carry grooming equipment for horses. It even gets its name from Evelyne Bertrand, the head of Hermès’ riding department.
Defined by its sporty appeal, the Evelyne is recognized for its oversized, perforated H logo, which was designed to provide ventilation to the bag’s interior, allowing equipment to dry. Today, that stylistic element is beloved for offering a more minimalist, understated take on a logo.
Evolution of the Evelyne Over the Years
The design has undergone slight updates over the years, including the addition of a strap adjustment and an exterior pocket. The Evelyne III, featuring an adjustable strap and exterior pocket, is the version currently in production (plus the Evelyne Sellier, which is more rare to find).
Over the years, Evelyne has expanded the range of bags in the Evelyne family, including the offering of an on-trend mini size, often referred to as the Evelyne TPM, but more formally known as the Evelyne 16 Amazone. Now, a new size enters the Hermès chat, and it just might be the most perfectly sized Evelyne of them all.

Introducing the Evelyne 23
First rumored to be joining the Evelyne lineup early in 2025, the much-anticipated Evelyne 23 finally hit boutiques at the tail end of 2025. Clients have noted its arrival in Noir, Rose Sakura, Ébène, Étoupe, Biscuit, Caban, Gold, and Purple. Its debut retail price is $4,100.
The Evelyne 23 fills the size gap between the ultra-mini 16 (TPM) and the larger 29 size. Its medium-sized interior is described as offering “spaciousness while remaining lightweight.” According to tPFer sf_newyorker, the Evelyne 23 is approximately two inches narrower than the 29 and two inches less in depth as well.

I have the TPM and the PM and always wished there was a size in between. Thank you Hermes. Just wish I could actually afford it….
For me the Evelyne 33 is just right. Even the 29 is usually too small for me.
