Introduced in the fall of 2016 by Alessandro Michele, the Gucci Marmont has been making waves for nearly a decade. With many elements that tie into House signifying emblems, it’s easy to see why this bag was a hit from the start.
For 2025, Gucci updated the Marmont with a new, softer leather and a sleek back pocket. The hardware was also updated, with polished gold and silver finishes and the exact sliding chain mechanism that makes this bag so easy to use. The other new addition is deliciously fun sorbet tones, including lilac, butter yellow, and light blue.
From Mini to Maxi: The Marmont’s Enduring Versatility
The Marmont set a blaze across the House of Gucci, redefining a bag that was seen as the ideal bag for every collection, from its smallest iterations to more casual camera styles to the larger daily hauler. This bag has defined the last era of fashion. In fact, I am not sure there is a day in my life that goes by without seeing one variation in the wild.

What’s New for 2025: Design and Hardware Updates
The GG Marmont is defined by its Double G hardware, which sits atop the flap closure and matelassé chevron leather. The pattern on this bag, crafted from stitching, gives the bag a more three-dimensional feel, with lines and curves that help bring the bag to life. The leather is incredibly supple, made from smooth lambskin leather.
The faceted chain strap proves to be as useful as it is pretty to look at. It allows the bag to be carried doubled up or with a single strap and crossbody.
The dimensions of this size, the small, are 8.7″ x 4.9″ x 2.4″, and it weighs approximately 1.2 lbs.

The interior features tonal viscose lining and one open pocket. Despite its small size, the bag’s interior is spacious and practical. It can hold an iPhone Pro+, AirPods, a continental wallet, lipstick, and a few other small necessities.

While I know plenty of people who start with a version of the Marmont in a neutral hue to be a cornerstone of their collection, one of these colors (I mean, butter yellow is entirely on trend) is ideal for summer for those of you who prefer an accessory that grabs attention.
Spotted on Style Stars: Celebrities Already Carrying the New Marmont
Part of a bag’s success relies on celebrities, influencers, and general fashion aficionados carrying it. As the bag-buying public, we rely on seeing items being carried to decide if they look as good in person, and give us that feeling of bag desire.
The new sorbet tones have already been seen on a handful of friends of the House including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Julia Garner, and Devon Carlson.

Boring
I like it! IRL it is a well made bag at a bit better price point than many designer bags. Good bang for your buck.
The butter yellow!
Is it me or is the styling so crazy? It’s like all black, sleek outfits and a bag that looks like an Easter egg?
