Your Next Handbag Purchase Can Help End Hunger

42 million people face hunger in the United States every day, but it doesn't have to be like that.

Feeding America is the country’s largest hunger-relief organization, linking millions of pounds of rescued food with over 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs nationwide, enabling them to feed the people who need it most. And while contributing meaningfully to such a vast problem may seem difficult, Frye has teamed up with Feeding America to do it in one of the easiest and most fun ways imaginable: through a handbag.

The Frye Harvest Tote, which debuts September 14 at Frye Company stores, the brand’s website and Zappos, was inspired by the work Feeding America does to ensure that food doesn’t go to waste when there are people who need it. The line of bags, which is available in 35 colors and three materials, was created using 18,000 feet of “leftover” leather.

The tote retails for $198, which is already reasonable for a roomy, all-leather tote bag, but the upside of buying one is even better: for every Frye Harvest Tote sold, the brand will donate $100 to Feeding America.

Together, through one act of kindness, we can provide more than 3 million meals for America’s hungry.
