While average Americans have been navigating a weird midweek national holiday that has made today the most Monday-feeling Thursday of my entire life, chic citizens of the global fashion community have been in Paris, celebrating the Fall 2018 couture collections and carrying some of the world’s most beautiful bags. As we always do when a fashion week comes around, we pored over photos of notable arrivals and departures to the show, and below, we’ve assembled a gallery of the best bags we found (and the famous arms they were on), all for your viewing pleasure.
Adriana Abascal
Adriana Abascal is one of those people who consistently pops up at all the most important global fashion events, but who I never encounter otherwise. In my head, she’s just constantly en route to fashion week. In this case, she attended Valentino’s couture show with a Valentino Rockstud Spikes Minaudiere. Shop the Valentino Rockstud Spikes Minaudiere via Neiman Marcus ($2,475)
Adriana Lima
Adriana Lima, on the other hand, is a fashion personality that’s far more broadly known than most because of her long association with Victoria’s Secret. And, in case you didn’t know, she wants to make it clear during the World Cup that she’s one of Brazil’s long line of supermodels. She paired her jersey with a Chanel shoulder Bag. Adwoa Aboah
I’m super into Prada‘s upcoming neon nylon bags, and the fanny pack version is seen here on supermodel Adwoa Aboah, whose edgy and distinct personal style works perfectly with her hot pink Prada bag. Shop Prada Bags via Nordstrom
Amber Heard
Like the neon Prada bags you’ll see in this gallery, Amber Heard‘s gathered Valentino shoulder bag is also forthcoming. The couture shows provide brands with a great opportunity to get a little bit of exposure for collections that are about to drop, courtesy of their famous guests. Shop Valentino Bags via Nordstrom
Anna Brewster
English actress Anna Brewster, on the other hand, was outfitted for the Chanel show with the brand’s Life Preserver Minaudiere, which is from the collection in boutiques now. Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Belén Chavanne
Karl Lagerfeld generally sticks to up-and-coming European ingenues, but this time, he thought a little outside the box: Belén, seen here with a Chanel Backpack, is Argentine. Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Camila Coelho
Belén’s neighbor to the north, Brazilian Instagram star Camila Coelho, attended Dior‘s show with a logo pouch from the brand. Shop Dior Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Caro Daur
Normally during show season, we mostly spot bags from brands who are participating in a particular fashion week, but couture tends to give us more frequent exceptions because many couture brands don’t make bags. Here, German Instagram star Caro Daur carried a Céline Lizard Mini Clasp Bag. Shop Céline Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Caro Daur
Caro was our most frequently spotted celeb during the couture shows. She carried a Dior Dior21st Bag to…you guessed it…Dior. Shop Dior Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Caro Daur
Fendi also showed a collection during couture week, and they outfitted Caro with the brand’s biggest yet-to-be-released design, the Fendi Flip Bag. It’s part of Fendi Resort 2019. Shop Fendi Bags via Fendi
Caro Daur
Remember those forthcoming neon nylon Prada bags I mentioned? Yep, Caro picked up one of those too. Shop Prada Bags via Nordstrom
Chiara Ferragni
Fresh off maternity leave from her public fashion-wearing duties, Chiara Ferragni attended Fendi’s show with a bag we can’t entirely see, but because of the drawstring, we’re going to guess it’s a Fendi Mon Tresor Bucket Bag. Shop Fendi Bags via Fendi
Elisa Sednaoui
Chanel has armed many celebrities with its Metiers d’Art 2018 Shipping Container Minaudiere since the style debuted in stores, and model Elisa Sednaoui is the latest to carry it. Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Elle Bamber
This Chanel Life Preserver Mini Bag, which is from Cruise 2019, should not be confused with the Life Preserver Minaudiere, currently in stores. Their moods are very different, as are their price tags. (The minaudiere version costs five figures.) Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Emma Roberts
Emma Roberts‘s look here strikes me as “extremely fashionable ghost,” down to the Dior Tarot Clutch. Shop Dior Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Giovanna Battaglia
We can always rely on editor Giovanna Battaglia for a masterful use of color, and in this instance she paired a bright outfit with a dark, neutral Fendi Peekaboo Bag. Shop the Fendi Peekaboo Bag via Fendi ($3,390)
Helena Bordon
Ahh, the Dior Saddle Bag has made its first appearance. It won’t be the last! Shop Dior Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Joan Smalls
Models who walk the shows, unlike high-profile seated attendees, can carry whatever the hell they choose. Supermodel Joan Smalls chose a simple Givenchy Pandora Chain Wallet. Shop the Givenchy Pandora Chain Wallet via Neiman Marcus ($1,195)
Karlie Kloss
The Lady Dior will always be my favorite Dior bag, and Karlie Kloss seems partial to it as well. Shop Dior Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Lala Rudge
Over at Valentino, designer Pierpaoli Picciolo has introduced many new bags since partner Maria Grazia Chiuri decamped for Dior several seasons ago, and this little box clutch is among them. As far as I can tell, it’s not on the market yet.
Lily Allen
Lily Allen is a longtime Chanel muse, and although her presence at the brand’s shows waxes and wanes year to year, the brand brought her out for couture with a simple Chanel satchel. Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Nicky Hilton
Kathy Hilton
Like mother, like daughter. Nicky and Kathy Hilton both attended Valentino’s couture show, and they both carried Valentino bags to do it: Nicky with a panther-print box clutch, Kathy with the clear version of the Valentino Rockstud Spikes Bag. Shop the Valentino Clear Rockstud Spikes Bag via Nordstrom ($1,745)
Nicky Hilton
At a different couture show, Valentino superfan (the brand designed her wedding dress) Nicky also carried the Valentino Rockstud Spikes Bag in its new clear version. Shop the Valentino Clear Rockstud Spikes Bag via Nordstrom ($1,745)
Olivia Palermo
It can’t be a Dior show without Olivia Palermo. She was one of the celebs tasked with carrying the relaunched Dior Saddle Bag. Shop Dior Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Pauline Ducruet
You might not be familiar with Pauline, but she’s the granddaughter of Princess Grace of Monaco. She also carried the new Dior Saddle Bag. Shop Dior Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Penelope Cruz
Penelope Cruz didn’t just attend Chanel’s couture show carrying a pink Chanel Classic Flap Bag; she was also announced as the brand’s newest muse. Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Soo Joo Park
Model Soo Joo Park both walked and attended shows at couture week. She sat front row at Chanel with a Chanel Vanity Case Bag in bold primary colors. Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Soo Joo Park
After walking in a different show, Soo Joo posed outside with a Valentino Rockstud Denim Spikes Bag. $2,675 via Neiman Marcus
Vanessa Paradis
Here we have two generations of Chanel muse, but only one bag: Lily-Rose Depp alongside mom Vanessa Paradis, who is carrying a Chanel Pouch. Shop Chanel Bags via Vestiaire Collective
Winnie Harlow
And finally, a mystery bag on none other than Winnie Harlow. The little tag says “James,” but we could find a match.
