New York Fashion Week (or, more accurately, New York Fashion Eight Days and Some Presentations Before and After) is, to be blunt, never the best place to spot excellent luxury handbags on the runway. (That honor goes to either Paris or Milan, depending on the season.) It always boasts a few winners if you’re willing to search, though, and, as it turns out, searching is my job.
NYFW does have more contemporary options than its overseas competitors, though, and that makes it an ideal place to spot consumer-friendly trends and cute options from smaller brands than those celebrated on the European runways. Below, we’ve sorted through hundreds (maybe thousands?) of catwalk and presentation photos from the last week and a half, all for your purchase-planning pleasure.

Slides 7 and 18 aren’t half bad!
everything just starts to blend together…like…i feel as if theres no variety in styles at the moment
What a disappointing group of bags. Everything looks like a Birkin or Chanel bag which honestly are becoming more and more tired looking lately. Are we that dried up of talent that we can no longer come up with something new? Surprisingly the only bag I found decent was the coach bag.
Love P & S bag on slide 18!
