Few American fashion brands are as storied and well-known as Coach. Founded in 1941, what began as a family-owned and operated leather goods business evolved into a full-scale fashion brand spanning multiple product categories.
The brand has seen many iterations of change over the last two decades and it is currently having a major renaissance.
What began as a slow and steady rebrand quickly turned into Coach becoming a Gen Z favorite, taking over social media feeds and churning out bags worthy of It-status, but at an affordable price. Where a decade ago it seemed like the brand was missing the mark, the Coach of today simply doesn’t miss.
Big Bag, Bigger Social Media Boom
The latest bag to go viral is quickly becoming the it-item of Fall 2024. Yes, I’m talking about that Bella Hadid-approved bag, the Brooklyn 39.
If you’re unfamiliar, the Coach Brooklyn Bag checks off a few boxes that make it a prime pick for the brand’s next must-have.
To start, the silhouette itself is minimal and sleek, but its easy, relaxed shape offers a sort of IDGA…bleep attitude. It has that rare balance of cool and chic, and Bella Hadid proves that by styling the bag in two different ways.
While the Brooklyn comes in a smaller size, the 28, it’s the larger size that has taken social media by storm. It taps into the current slouchy, big-bag movement. In many ways, it offers the look of The Row at a fraction of the price.
The Brooklyn Bag clearly has all the makings of a hit. Still, its imminent success is no accident—the brand has carefully curated its new image utilizing this new wave of social media while becoming the affordable favorite of an entire generation.

The model demonstrating perfectly why that bag would be a super annoying hard to get into bottomless black hole.
When carrying, I always put smaller items inside a pouch, them place pouch inside bag! Super easy to locate items!
Exactly! To promote sales they should make it look effortlessly to get in and out, but the struggle is real.
Exactly! It’s huge
But… I have owned and carried and seen triangular bags like this for years …!?
I actually really like Coach but I kinda hate this bag. They have some really quality leathers and great designs but this bag actually looks thin and cheap. I’m not really sure how it’s taken off in this way…
It took forever to find her phone!
is it “real” leather?where is this made?assuming china at this price? never had a coach bag but looks promising
Reformation’s midi Vittoria is
very similar but way cuter and a bit more structured
You are so right! I just looked at this bag in the small size and it is very cute. Not the feed-bag look of the Coach but actually has style.Thx
This is my first ever Coach bag (always hated the Coach aesthetic). Love the effortless slouchiness of it, love how light it is no matter what I put in it. Also love the smooth leather on it. I own The Row Bindle and this reminds me very much of it – it betters the Bindle by having one slit pocket with a snap closure – I would go as far as to say this was most likely inspired by the Bindle and the Bottega Hop.
If you like capacious slouchy bags you will love this.
If you like this Coach Style but it’s too big for you, Dillard’s has a smaller version the Brooklyn 28 and other cute Coach handbags to choose from!
