The devil is always in the details when it comes to Christian Louboutin‘s shoes and bags, and it’s mostly due to the designer’s knack for combining ornate patterns and textures into one smooth, elegant whole. Louboutin’s Spring 2016 collection is especially exciting because we have three new bag styles to look forward to (and, of course, an array of fancy footwear).
Louboutin continues his trajectory to expand the brand’s line of handbags, and spring’s efforts include the Paloma Tote, the Triloubi Crossbody and the Eloise Tote. The Paloma is the most structured handbag we’ve seen from the brand, and it features a portfolio interior. Inspired by Louboutin’s love for Parisian cabaret showgirl, the Paloma is equal parts feminine and edgy with its signature spiked gussets.
The Triloubi is a sleek everyday option if you prefer to carry a shoulder or crossbody bag. The three zipper compartments are spacious enough to keep you organized and still fit all the essentials. The Eloise Tote features the signature spiked Louboutin bow you’ll recognize from one the brand’s popular Sweet Charity design, and all three new options are both practical and visually striking.
When talking Louboutin, you can’t leave out the shoes. The designer references nature throughout this collection, with aquamarine and Amazonian motifs, patterns and textures. As always, it’s the minor details on a Louboutin that make the biggest impact, as you’ll see in the hand-placed crystals on the Dorissima Clair Strass Pump or the bead work on the Tipika Gab Brode Sandal.
But if I may take a moment to obsess over what I believe to be the the standout piece in this collection: the leopard pony hair and mesh So Baker Specchio Knot Pony Sandals. (Amanda said I could pull these off, and that’s all the reassurance I need). There’s a lot going on for one sandal, but they’re so striking and sexy–basically everything the Louboutin brands stands for!
