A few years ago, I mused that it was time for Chloé to have a renaissance. I craved a return to the Chloé of yesteryear, to the epitome of the #ChloéGirl. A Chloé that oozes an unmistakably girly, bohemian aesthetic with a touch of romanticism. I soon got my wish when Chemena Kamali made her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week Fall 2024.
Instantly, it was clear—boho was back.
Kamali’s debut for Chloé signaled a return to the innately feminine, undeniably Parisian appeal that is deeply rooted in Chloé’s brand DNA. The fashion world, collectively, was obsessed. Now, nearly two years in, Kamali has cemented her vision for Chloé, bringing back its bohemian spirit.
With it comes a return to the golden era of Chloé bags. Shapes that ooze a lived-in, effortless appeal that It-girls everywhere keep coming back to, and we’re unpacking three of the best to wear now and beyond.
Chloé Paddington Bag
Of course, the iconic Chloé Paddington bag is number one on our list. The brainchild of Phoebe Philo, who helmed Chloé from 2001 to 2006, the Paddington was first debuted on the runway for Spring 2005. It was a massive hit, and many attribute the era of the It-bag to the Paddington and bags of its kind.
When the Paddington returned to the runway for the Fall 2025 season, two decades after it was first created, nostalgia-lovers went wild. The new Paddington stays true to its original details, including its cool-girl slouch and iconic padlock, but this time around, it is a bit lighter. A rainbow of classic Chloé colors is available, including a fresh drop of seasonal metallic.
Chloé Mini Marcie Shoulder Bag
While the Paddington is a Chloé icon from the past, the Marcie is a cornerstone design that came and never left. Few items are as synonymous with Chloé and its eponymous DNA as the Marcie bag. Released in 2009, the Marcie is instantly recognizable by its distinct leather tab closure and piped leather detailing. Over the years, many sizes and shapes have joined the Marcie family, but the Marcie Mini Shoulder bag in suede is currently at the top of everyone’s lust lists, thanks to its contemporary appeal.
Chloé Spin Bag
When it comes to the classics, Chloé does them, but always with a twist that feels true to the Chloé brand, and that’s precisely what the Spin bag offers. The roomy ease of an everyday tote meets the slouchy chic style of Chloé. My favorite is the large version in contrasting suede and leather.

The padlocks just make me wish for an article about the chicest, lightest weight bags. 😉
No to the padlock. No to any excessive weight. I’ve been this way since last time around. Flash back, my dear friend purchased a LV Manhattan only to gift it away after about 2 weeks because it was… dead heavy!
Was this post sponsored by Chloé? Lol Sorry but these bags are not it.
I love, love, love the vintage Chloe bags of the early aughts, especially the Paddington, Edith, Silverado, and Bay. That was the era that truly cemented my love of Chloe and many other designers and bags of the time, the YSL Muse, Givenchy Nightingale, Valentino Histoire, Fendi “B” bag and the Spy. Phoebe Philo was IT.
Thankfully, I still have and carry many of them. As for the original Paddington bags, it’s true…they were HEAVY, even empty and the joke about how the padlock basically rendered the bag as a possible method of self-defense if need be. I remember that some carried the bag without the lock but what is the point of the bag without it? Personally, I “suffered” through it, carrying it intact with the lock because…fashion? However, there were so many people complaining about the lock that Chloe released the Paddington line with a lighter weight clear PMMA “Perspex” padlock. Of course, Paddington lovers revolted as if they’d been asked to hand over a kidney. I was not one of them and bought a tote with that version of the lock. But, it just wasn’t the same. As we all know, it just isn’t possible to make everyone happy. That being said, the new Paddington is supposed to be much lighter in weight than the originals.
The Marcie bags that I still have are very good but not my favorites. When they were released, it was with a whimper, especially when compared to the Silverado and Paddington. IMHO, this Spin bag is “meh” at best but to each his (her!) own.
I’m just so happy to see the younger generation(s) discovering these wonderful “old” Chloe styles. Even though it seems like it was only yesterday that I WAS that “young”generation. 👜
Chloe is fun 🤩
Glad I kept mine.
Kept mine and it’s still as smooshy and beautiful. Don’t understand the complaints about the padlock, it’s not that heavy and makes the bag.
