Chloé’s Most Iconic It-Bag from the Early Aughts Is Back

The Chloé Paddington makes a grand return for Fall 2025

Chloe Fall 2025 11

It’s been a whirlwind of a year for Chemena Kamali since her first collection for Chloé debuted to much fanfare last March during Paris Fashion Week Fall 2024. It turns out that Kamali didn’t need to reinvent the wheel; instead, it was a return to Chloé’s heritage and iconic bohemian roots that resonated.

This season, Kamali furthers her exploration of Chloé’s distinct brand DNA while also looking to the future, exploring and redefining the woman’s wardrobe.

Inspired by the romanticization that we give to the past and the memories that define who we are, this season, Kamali focuses on melding the memories of a bygone era with the present day. Reinterpreting the effortless spirit of the Chloé woman through a modern lens, she also explored the intersection of that realness with the innate opulence of Chloé’s history.

Kamali’s vision further evolved this season, and while the feel overall is the same, the ready-to-wear dives deeper into a woman’s wardrobe and its variations throughout different decades.

As expected, Kamali’s signature nods to 1970s Chloé, like lace, ruffles, and silk, were present throughout. While the romanticism and movement we’ve come to expect from Kamali’s Chloé are still at play with this collection, there are hints of newness, too.

Soft, boho looks gave way to hints of rock and roll edge, like black mini skirts with oversized gold belts, statement leathers, and the unmistakable fur tails seen hanging from clothing and bags alike.

The Chloé Paddington Returns

When it came to the bags, Kamali continued in the same vein, melding Chloé’s past with its present, bringing back one of the most iconic It-bags from the early aughts. The Chloé Paddington made a grand return to the runway, complete with its staple oversized lock, including a mini version.

Other shapes included cylindrical leather barrel bags accented with gold sides and heart-shaped drawstring pouches on a chain, all complete with gold chains, charms, and trinkets. Larger carryalls were shown worn with the barrel bag attached, oozing effortless ease, once again speaking to the spirit of the Chloé woman.

We really must be entering a recession……LV brings back murakami, Fendi brings back spy bag, Dior brings back J’adore Dior tshirts, now Chloe with paddington. Brands bringing back proven hits

Susie

My whiskey colored Paddington was my first designer bag purchase….. Excuse me while I go take her out of her dust bag for a well deserved comeback.

Suzanne

I must have spiritually felt this comeback as I literally got my beloved out this morning to take her for a long overdue spin!

Gigi

The Paddington bag has always looked a bit messy to me.

Kayb

They were heavy too–before you put anything in them. Their smooshy nature also made them kind of a pain to actually use; finding the stuff inside was a bit tedious unless it was stuffed (to provide some structure). Sold all of mine ages ago.

Simbadog8

They were so heavy and awkward to carry, but nothing looked better if you could deal with the weight and the fact that it was hand-held.

Raquelle

k.

MMMSC

Had the Paddington back in its heyday and sold it. It was so very heavy, especially after I got hooked on the light-as-air Balenciaga city bags, but really loved the look of it. Talk about a comeback: this one is kind of a surprise, but just about everything comes back around. (Horders, er, collectors, unite) 🙂

Carrie K

I love the mini Paddington! Another home run from Chemena Kamali! It’s 3 for 3 now, bravo 👏

Sania

Chloe DNA is clearly visible in her collection. So whimsical and wearable, love it!

Raquelle

WELCOME BACK PADDINGTON BAGS!!!! I have been waiting for you!

Terri

So chic, so Chloe!

Tracy

If I wanted a Paddington I could purchase them for less than $300 at FP or eBay. I wouldn’t pay whatever price they’re now charging for them.

Raquelle

I plan on buying new. The vintage ones are too well loved for what they’re charging.

Grace

Agreed, however I’ve noticed a steep markup on second hand platforms for the Paddington over the past couple of months (no doubt in anticipation of a possible comeback). They’re in the 500 euro range and up now and I’ve even seen a couple priced in the four-figure range on Vestiaire (selling just below 1000 euros). Anyway, the new prices at Chloe will be stratospheric and the quality of the leather looks sub-par from these pics. I’m very happy I still have (and carry!) my khaki 2005 Paddy, it has the squishiest leather. I also have two Silverado’s, perhaps that’ll be the next comeback

Victoria

Guess this means I shouldn’t sell off my remaining Paddington pieces after all. 😆

Kathyjazz

The Paddington holds a special place in my heart as probably the It bag I most obsessed over…until I got one. I found it heavy to carry (forearm only), even empty. And that lock! So so cool, but annoying because the weight of it flattened the bag down like a pancake. With just natural movement, the finish on the shackle of the lock tended to scrape and peel away. You may notice this on the vintage ones. I hope that on the new version, they create a lock of lighter weight and with a more durable finish. It’s a bag worth bringing back. Seeing it still makes my heart sing.

Barbara

I love the codes of Chloe but they don’t come together in a way that works for me. It feels busy and messy, like a chignon that is unraveling. Still, the romanticism always catches my attention.

Kaly

Ahh the Paddington; she’s heavy, clumsy to carry, hard to open, doesn’t fit on my shoulder — yet I LOVE her!! Sold my 3 Paddy’s years ago, for PENNIES on what I originally paid (still hurts!) and now I’ve just scooped up 2 on the pre-loved market as the prices are RISING!!! Same with the Fendi Spy bag—if you’re in the market for a pre-owned, HURRY!! 💸

Thefashionableteacher

I loved the Paddington. However, like with a lot of Chloe handbags, it’s HEAVY. I’m no longer interested in owning one, but I am interested in how it sells. I own three Chloe bags. While I love them all, I don’t think that I will purchase another. They’re just too weighty.

Anniea

I have a black paddington preloved that I purchased from a very nice lady in this purse group. Beautiful bag, don’t use it any more.

Sandra Hohn

I will take out my Paddington for the old days in burgundy snake and wear it proudly. Loved the look then and will love it now.

Passerine

I am remember the first go-round for the Paddington. Sold out everywhere in Paris and London. But a store in Brussels had two in their window that sat there for weeks (no, they weren’t fakes). Of course, this was before social media was so widespread. And CompuServe didn’t seem to be a great marketing tool for the brand 😉

Antonia

Love the Paddington, hate how heavy/cumbersome it is to carry. I’ve had several second hand ones from TRR. One was around $150 a couple years ago. These new ones will surely cost upwards of $3k!!

Momin4inch

Wow, just went through all my bags the other day and found my Paddington. Had totally forgotten about that one. Perfect timing to pull it out again. Smooshy beautiful leather in a blueish antracit grey color and hardly worn.
Was hoping for the Fendi B, but satisfied with the Spy for now.

Pbl1225

Oh my – I don’t need Chloe to bring back the padlock but I love the outfits and the bags are whimsical

RKit

Preferred the other P Chloe bag…..Paraty – recognizable, way lighter and still sort of edgy/cool in exotics! Hope they pull that out of their archives 😉🤭

kemilia

I knew if I waited long enough Paddy would return. Though she is HEAVY AS HECK, so glad I kept her.

Bex

Love Chloe, but these bags are not my cup of tea. The overall styling is excellent though.

Lindsay Marks

Seeing real fur tails hanging from the bags is very disappointing and shocking. Chloe has really changed their ethics.

Momin4inch

Relax, they are fake fur. You can clearly see it. Which means bad for nature as they don’t properly break down in nature and leave oil residue in stead.

Victoria

After seeing it in person, I can confirm it is indeed FAKE faux raccoon fur.

Kathyjazz

I believe these are all faux fur tails.

Namie

I hope they will bring back quilted Bay and the Betty.
