While in many parts of the world it feels like summer has been in full swing, with cities like Paris and New York already hitting record temperatures, the summer solstice only officially hit yesterday. This time between the solstice and the July Fourth holiday in the US often feels like peak summer, and stars have been out and about working and running around with some good bags in hand. Curiously, the choices this week have been overly neutral, but you know what they say, black is always a good choice!
Let’s take a look!
Olivia Wilde
Olivia Wilde’s latest project, The Invite, which she both directed and starred in, will debut this week, and, as expected, she’s been making the rounds to promote it. The talented actress was seen leaving New York’s celeb hotel hot spot, The Bowery Hotel, heading to dinner in the epitome of a casual cool look. Wilde paired a loose-fitting all-white look with a black blazer, a baseball cap, and The Row’s Cecily bag.
Cardi B
A girl after our own heart, handbag lover Cardi B stopped by TAO in New York for an evening out in a red latex look by Kylie Jenner’s label Khy. In true Cardi form, the rapper paired the head-turning fit with an exotic Mini Kelly bag.
Jennifer Lopez
Speaking of handbag lovers, Jennifer Lopez took a break from her Hermès rotation for a stroll through Paris last week, just before the city’s extreme heat wave took hold. If you needed convincing that the capri is, indeed, back, look no further than Jenny from the block, who wore a chic all-black look paired with a cropped jacket and a Matte Black Lady Dior.
Zoey Deutch
Zoey Deutch was caught beating the New York heat while on her way to NBC studios to discuss her new Netflix film, Voicemails for Isabelle. The actress paired a sleek satin dress by indie label Almada with the trendy Alaïa Le Teckel shoulder bag. A tonal fringed scarf tied around her waist added a tactile flair to the simple silhouette of the dress.
Lily Collins
Filming has officially begun for the 6th and final season of Emily in Paris, and we’ve got a first look at the bags that will be seen on screen this season. Lily Collins, who will close out her role as Emily, was spotted on set in Paris with her signature bob—a stark change from season one Emily—wearing a bright green bag by Barbara Bui. The circular shoulder bag matched her cropped jacket, which also paired back to her printed platforms.
