It seems that celebrities have already begun their deep holiday hibernation. The two weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year's tend to be a no-promo zone for the vast majority of celebrities, though the myriad Star Wars premieres across the globe are giving us a little something to go on this year. Still, it's a slow week for celeb stalking, though we did manage to include pics of reader favorites Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence. And as my special holiday gift to you, we begin one of our last celebrity roundups of the year with a good old-fashioned MYSTERY bag!
Here's former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld, leaving the Greenwich Hotel in NYC with a grommeted navy blue pouchette on a chain. It has a very Giambattista Valli or possibly Marc Jacobs vibe, but we can't find anything like it from either designer. Prada and Miu Miu both have a few grommet-studded bags with chain straps in their arsenal, but this doesn't seem to be one of those either. As always, we invite you to leave your best guess in the comments below.
Saint Laurent College Monogram Bag
$2,450 via Saks
Here's model Charlotte McKinney, tacitly acknowledging the paps as she makes her way around LA with a beautiful Saint Laurent College Monogram Bag. I don't think this bag has been the runaway hit that Saint Laurent may have wanted it to be, but I like its slightly understated glamour.
Salvatore Ferragamo Fiamma Bag
$2,250 via Bloomingdale's
At last, a celebrity who is not Reese Witherspoon carrying the Salvatore Ferragamo Fiamma! (To be fair, we love the Ferragamo, and we've endorsed it heartily ourselves, bur Reese has been bogarting the Fiamma for some time.) Here's Demi Moore, blitzing through LAX with her Fiamma her Gucci luggage.
Dior Diorama Bag
Lo and behold: J-Law finally carried a Dior bag. Jennifer has been repping for Dior for a couple years now, but she has been reluctant to actually carry its handbags IRL, and in fact has been carrying a surplus of Valentino bags as of late. Is it possible that Amanda got her into trouble? I'd really like to think that we bloggers have that kind of clout with brands.
Even though the Kardashian-Jenner clan literally owns dozens of Birkins, the Birkin is not actually one of Kendall's preferred bags. So it's interesting to see her leaving The Nice Guy in West Hollywood with the same lovely, petite version we spotted (and loved) her with last week.
Longchamp Le Pliage Tote
$145 via Bloomingdale's
Great British Baking Show (that's what it's called in the US, for any curious Brits in the audience) judge Mary Berry was recently spotted leaving BBC Radio Two studios with a classic Longchamp Le Pliage Tote. She's doing a little promo for her holiday baking book, Mary Berry's Christmas Collection, which actually came out in 2006. I'm sure all of Mary Berry's titles are doing quite well now, given the success of her show, which we're all totally watching right now, correct?
Alexander McQueen Skull Clutch
Shop Alexander McQueen via Saks
Here's Mellody Hobson, standing steadfast alongside husband George Lucas as he cashes in yet another small portion of his soul at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere in London. She's carrying an intricate, pearly white Alexander McQueen Skull Clutch that looks fab with her dress.
Another day, another dollar, another pic of Nicky Hilton carrying an Hermès Birkin on the streets of NYC. I usually have little to nil to say about the Birkins, but I actually like the gold hardware on Kendall's better. Kendall wins.
