I have two great loves in my life, handbags and Taylor Swift. Seriously, anyone who knows me knows I am a huge fan of Taylor and her music (like, Swiftie status). I recently was browsing the internet and fell head over heels in love with a Marc Jacobs bag that matched Taylor’s newest album cover, Lover, perfectly. Music and fashion are two of the most creative outlets in life and it is certainly fun when their lanes come to a crossroad and blend together in expressing ourselves. To many, the Marc Jacobs bag would be nothing more than an on-trend tie dye bag, but to me, it represents my favorite album of the year (and in case you were wondering, yes, I bought it).
I love listening to new music from my favorite artists, but I always find an unexpected level of joy in analyzing an album's artwork. I am not a musical connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s nice to look at album art as a window into the creative eye of an artist you admire. I like to imagine how the artist and their team landed on an image to represent their work and I always associate the images chosen to accompany the music as a symbol from the artist themselves. I’m old school and will even buy CDs (yes, I know they are practically fossils in 2020), but I like to have a tangible item to touch and look at from my favorite artists.
I thought it would be fun to share bags that remind me of my favorite albums from the last year! When I see these album covers, I associate these bags with the artwork for the album.
Do you ever associate bags with music or have a bag that matches an album for you perfectly?
