A Look at The Row Nu Twin Mini Bag

Simple but sleek, this everyday crossbody is perfect for the minimalist in you

If you’re a lover of handbags, then you’re well aware that the market is huge. And while there are plenty of choices when it comes to brands and price points, the handbag realm is dominated by about a dozen luxury players. Many of these brands have been around for years and are backed by a rich history. Most of these brands (think Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton) began as a small family business, which eventually grew into the huge corporation we’re acquainted with today.

Though The Row was founded by twin sisters who are very much well-known in the fashion world for their boho chic style, the brand began much like that of the aforementioned brands; as a venture between two sisters—Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. We’ve talked about The Row a bit more lately than usual, and if I’m being honest, I’ve been paying a lot more attention to its offerings ever since I fell in love with its Half Moon bag.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I don’t love a good logo. I’ve always been a lover of logos and that hasn’t changed. However, as I’m getting older I’ve also begun to appreciate a well-made bag that is luxurious but subtle and understated too. The Row fits that bill incredibly well, and though my want list is longer than I can even begin to list here (old habits die hard), I’m seriously considering purchasing a high-quality bag which speaks to the minimalist that has begun to brew in me.

The Row launched handbags in 2011, and while most brands have changed its direction and aesthetics a few times over since then, in the last 9 years The Row has stayed true to its core DNA. All the while they’ve developed a loyal fan following and I’m slowly starting to count myself as one. My latest crush is the simple but sleek The Row Nu Twin Mini bag, which at first glance is giving me some serious #oldceline vibes. The Twin is to The Row as the Trio is to Celine, and I am here for it.

As seen on the SS ’20 runway, the The Row Nu Twin bag is updated for Spring, and its minimalistic design makes it an essential everyday bag. There’s not all that much to say about this bag, as the design is simplistic yet alluring. It can be worn as a crossbody with its adjustable strap, or it can be hand carried as a clutch. Though there is a tiny embossed logo just underneath the zipper, overall this bag flies under the radar, which is what many have come to know and love about The Row’s bags.

The Nu Twin Mini is crafted from smooth calf leather, which you can see has a nice grain to it. I’m anxious to get my hands on this bag and really see and feel the leather. It’s incredibly compact, but the bag’s two compartments do allow for a decent amount of your essentials with maximum organization. The Nu Twin mini is the perfect everyday bag for those who don’t carry a ton on the day to day, or for someone who would carry this strictly as a going out bag. It retails for $1,290, and its overall dimensions are 6.4″L x 7.6″ W x 1.6″ D. There is also a larger version of the bag for those who prefer a bigger bag.
