Every three months, Lyst releases a quarterly report called The Lyst Index, which analyzes the online shopping habits of shoppers around the globe. The report looks at data from sales, Google searches, and other important markers. Lyst’s latest report was just issued for Q1 of 2022, which covers January, February, and March. While Balenciaga took the top spot, some of the biggest brands in the handbag world followed suit, including Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and Miu Miu.
We pulled the top twelve handbag brands in order, and here’s what $1,200 will get you at each one. Relatively speaking, $1,200 is a lot of money, and while we used to use $1,000 as a good benchmark, entry-level prices have gone up as well, with handbag prices sky-rocketing and never-ending price increases. What $1,000 and even $1,200 can buy you is changing. Take a look at what you can get for the spring 2022 season with $1.2K.
Please don’t buy a bag just because it has logos all over it and because it is designer. $1200 is still a lot of money. Buy the bag that really makes you happy and that you really want, designer or not.
That is an excellent statement. Look at the bag, take away the logos, would you still pay that if you saw it at Macy’s.
No because I wonder the same thing about the Chanel flap bags.
prices get higher bags get smaller 🙄
So they are totally impracticall
Facts
Conclusion is not much. These are not practical bag and won’t hold the basics.
Exactlly my thoughts
Loewe is cute, the rest are a pass for me
$1,200 really doesn’t buy a lot these day – all bags are so tiny 🙁
That Balenciaga Hacker camera bag looks just like the Gucci Mini Ophedia camera bag. Also, I wish these photos were taken next to an apple or banana, something for scale since we all know how tiny these items probably are, given the price. I’m sure the photos were cut/paste into the article though.
That’s the point of the Hacker series. It’s a collab between Gucci and Balenciaga.
Plainly nothing worth having. I’m very happy I’m not looking for anything right now.
Thats great to say. That the same for me
Prices like this make vintage handbags well worth the investment.
I don’t know what currency exchange rate is used but Loewe’s Cubi bag costs 890 euros Visiting Europe is a bargain, 🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you are only factoring in the bag it’s a “bargain”, but the airfare, hotel, etc. makes it lot less of a bargain. 😊
When I buy a bag in Europe to bring back home to the US, after factoring in the tax refund I usually just think of the Euro price as USD – i.e. 890 euro=890 USD although it’s usually even a little less than that.
I’ve always had an obsession for the pre-logo, made in USA, leather Coach bags. Timeless classics, beautifully made, and they last forever.
