First Look: Bottega Veneta Pre-Spring 2023

Hold on to your wallets, the collection launches later this month...

Bottega Veneta Pre Spring 23 3

A precursor to Spring 2023, Bottega Veneta unveils a look at its Pre-Spring 2023 collection, otherwise known as Resort. This collection, while beautiful, is all about luxury, finished with a sense of realism and a redefinition of what is cool. Matthieu Blazy, Bottega Veneta’s creative director, told Vogue Runway that when designing the collection, the team got together and ruminated: “what do we want to wear ourselves? How can we make clothes that are cool and at the same time the ultimate luxury?”

The collection oozes all that and more, defined by its wearable pieces like tailored suiting, wool jackets, and denim, yes, denim. Because Pre-Spring launches in stores just ahead of the holidays, collections typically include some sort of party wear, and you’ll find that at BV too. Scattered throughout are silk dresses and jersey separates and a hint of sequins.

The New, New Bottega

For Pre-Spring, a wide array of bags are shown, utilizing Bottega Veneta’s most iconic House codes like Intrecciato and gold-knotted hardware. The Cassette appears in the brand’s latest exaggerated woven leather — plisse intrecciato. This textured leather is Matthieu Blazy’s take on Bottega Veneta’s heritage. There’s a helmet-shaped satchel that is said to be inspired by the headgear of Milan’s scooter commuters and a shoulder bag that is reminiscent of a bandana, complete with a triangular pointed bottom. A metallic silver small Kalimero Bucket is clutched by a model, fusing together Blazy’s debut with the now. View bags below, launching 11/10.

It’s a very strong collection. I think it could appeal to the older and younger consumer easily. Bottega’s lucky they’ve got such a strong brand that they don’t need to make a BV monogram to let everyone know who they are.

If by younger you mean 50 than yes you would be correct.

This is a beautiful collection. They really put craftsmanship on display and the hardware choices are really cool. I need the teal shoulder bag with the gold button in my life. That really small intrecciato is glorious.

So bland. I wonder if anyone likes that black skirt with a cut out. So ugly and unimaginative.

The bags are ugly
The clothes are ugly
The shoes are ugly

Was the theme of this collection ugly?

Susan

Based on your previous posts, you finding something “ugly” is a sure sign that it’s sophisticated and elegant. ❤️

To say that this collection is bland would be a great understatement. Mark my words, this brand is going to lose sales (and definitely hype) in the year to come. And let’s not talk about the POOR customer service that’s happening across the board! I’ve never had such disgraceful customer service in my whole life than I have experienced in the last 5 months or so. They raise their prices but don’t care about the loyal clients anymore. DL was the small window of hope and now that has passed. So happy I have my perfectly curated collection and now I can move on to other brands in peace.
