Some brands thrive on the seasonal churn that comes with novelty, trend cycles and the constant introduction of new designs, but Bottega Veneta is not among them. Instead, the staid Italian powerhouse has a wide line of functional, beautiful bags that are useful in the lives of real women, and every season, it remixes and reimagines them and occasionally introduces new pieces instead of relying on the press that comes with splashy debuts of new It Bag hopefuls.
That consistency and luxury is exactly what you’ll find in Bottega Veneta’s Resort 2017 lookbook, which features bags in a soft palette of mixed colors and textures, with plenty of exotic accents and the brand’s signature intrecciato woven leather. They’re sumptuous and very pretty, but they’re also all the types of bags that I could see women carrying to work or to a lunch date with a friend. Bottega makes real-life luxury, which is the best endorsement I can think of.
