Bottega heads in to Resort 2011 with a bit of…plaid?

It’s approximately 27 degrees outside in Atlanta right now, and when you consider that we’re usually in the mid-50s in December, I’m sure you can understand how much of a shock that was when I left the house this morning. I’m currently wearing double layers and huddled under a blanket, but I’m also hoping that the sunny, cheerful Bottega Veneta Large Check Shoulder Bag can help keep me warm.

I’ve been looking at this bag for quite a while, trying to decide if I can get on board with the multicolor check pattern that criss-crosses the white leather background. And I think I can! This bag doesn’t fit in with my normal personal style, but it sure does make me want to fast-forward to late May and linen dresses.

Bottega Veneta Large Check Shoulder Bag

I have a feeling that this bag is going to divide our commentariat, but I’m going to stick to my guns – it’s fun! It’s bright! It’s different! Bottega Veneta puts out a fine assortment of bags, but most of the pieces that would be suitable for daytime wear tend to be conceived along very narrow aesthetic lines. This green and blue check represents a bit of departure for the brand’s lovely lambskin totes, and the way that the colors fade in and out on the white squares of leather is unique and beautiful. Now I just need a gauzy maxi dress and a mojito. Oh, and a tropical locale to make this color scheme work. But that’s it! Christmas and my birthday are just around the corner, so someone forward this post to everyone I know. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $3300.

It’s perky, it’s fun, it makes me long for summer – all true. I’m as impulsive as the next gal, but at $3300 a pop… no matter where you are that’ll buy you at least a couple round trip tickets to an exotic tropical locale. At this price point I think I’ll stick to the classics.

Chris

This handbag is stunning! I love the colours, the way they fade, the pattern, the handle – everything.
But for $3300? Not going to happen… Sigh.

Normsally I love Botetga Veneta creations and I can “udnerstand” their crazy prices But ehre the price is absolutely out of every possible “understatement and the bag is truly ugly. I don’t like it nad I wouldn’t want that Bottega Veneta did it!

I love this bag! But I am not a fan of the price; it’s not nearly as whimsical as the purse 🙁

Megan

cute but not 3300$ cute. More like 500$ cute.

Vitta

Totally agree with the previous posts. Love the bag! Fun, well-designed, great colors and textures. But the price is outrageous. I wonder if we’re going to get anything decent from this brand in the normal-price range, for common people. I believe working women do deserve a little bit more attention from Bottega Veneta.

This bag is interesting in that it takes a bag that would normally be made out of fabric and does it in leather with the traditional Bottega twist.

LDJ

I love it!!!! Cute for the summer!!!!

Mochababe73

That is a lot of money for a seasonal bag. Personally, I think that you should wear what you like whenever you like, but this screams resort.
I would pay a couple of hundred for the bag, and use the rest to go on a cruise with my husband so that I can sport said bag.

Isabella Rosso

I would NOT wear this. Sure, the colors are not bad but the mixture of design + the colors is way too tiring for me. Bottega come out of the shadow, start doing the beautiful clutches I used to adore!

I’ve never really looked too closely at any of the Bottega Veneta bags before, but this one seems to deviate from what I’ve seen of their normal classic lines. This is indeed a fun-looking bag, perhaps better suited for tropical walks on the beaches of Waikiki or even while lounging in one of the cabanas in front of the majestic Moana Surfrider Hotel, eating freshly-cut pineapple slices and reveling in the coolness of the face towel that an observant hotel attendant has just given you. Aaaah, take me and this bag there!(ipad)

I think the art of designing bags is in full swing with this lovely vibrant, unique, colorful bag.It reminds me of the tpes you see in morrocon fashion.[ipad]

Mousse

The green / blue color palette just doesn’t do it for me. Might work with neutrals – perhaps a mix of gray and black washes. (ipad)

The colors are odd and this just looks off – no thanks BV! (ipad)

The style is not for me, but the darker version in a brownish grey and lagoon is easy on the eyes. (ipad)

Mousse

Gosh. I just saw this post again. No way BV. You are a design icon, but this bag is just awful. (ipad)

Inside a jewellery crafting class, you will have a teacher which could teach you getting such things as bead knotting and closing crimps done right. Out of your teacher, you may also learn many different associated with Thomas and Sabo, along with some tips in picking out your own personal designs and in all probability in setting up your own jewellery shop. One more apparent benifit of attending a category is that you arrive at share your learning experience with all the other people who are taking the class along with you. If you are a social particular person,Tom Sabo this chance for interaction with your peers can be quite a useful thing. You may also network with these once you establish Thomas Sabo Jewellery creating company in the foreseeable future.

Saw it today IRL at Barney’s NY SF. I don’t like it at all and continue to ask: BV – what the heck were you thinking when you designed this faux preppie look???? (ipad)

Mousse

Saks SF in Union Square has this bag with a dark gray background. I would never carry this bag. (ipad)

swati

errr….. no! …. I like it when BV sticks to its ‘classics’ … this fun bag comes across as very cheap looking (ipad)
