In the last few weeks, A$AP Rocky has become a style icon in his own right. Week after week, he’s been spotted donning the latest designer duds, complete with the best of the best bags.
Fans have enjoyed seeing him rock head-to-toe Bottega Veneta, showing off the latest looks from the brand’s Pre-Spring 2024 collection and looking insanely cool rocking a pink bag in a way that only RiRi’s baby dad could pull off.
Now, Bottega Veneta and A$AP Rocky have turned the tables on the paparazzi, taking street-style images shot by photographers and turning them into ads. Think of it as an unofficial-turned-official ad campaign, and we are obsessed.
It’s All About the Angles
The images, which just launched this week, are a collaborative effort of the creative minds of both Bottega Veneta and A$AP Rocky, who took to his Instagram to debut the images with a long caption written in all caps.
The New York-born and bred rapper discussed celebrities’ complex and often tumultuous relationship with the photographers who make a living out of following (and capturing their every move).
Some hate the tabloid hustle, and some love it, tipping off the paps as to where and when they’ll be at a certain location. For A$AP Rocky, it’s all part of the game, and the rapper cites himself as one of the rare few who don’t mind (as long as the angles are good, which honestly, who can blame him).
Showing It Off: Pre-Spring 2024
The campaign also taps Kendall Jenner, using lifestyle images shot by the paparazzi that showcase stunning pieces from the brand’s Pre-Spring 2024 collection. While it’s unclear which came first, the images or the idea for the campaign, we have a feeling that the images, licensed by Bottega Veneta from Getty Images and Backgrid, were no happy accident.
Both Jenner and A$AP Rocky were photographed from New York to LA and beyond in head-to-toe Bottega Veneta Pre-Spring numerous times over the last couple of months. Now, it’s all making a lot of sense, and we can’t help but wonder, who’s next? Margot Robbie, maybe?
