While suede is admittedly one of the trickiest materials to care for, it can also look quite nice. There’s something so eye-catching about a supple suede bag. Maybe that’s thanks to its softness, begging to be touched, or maybe it’s that suede most often comes in deep, rich hues, holding the color so well.
Like many others, I have sworn off suede in the past due to its unpredictability, but this season, I’m changing my tune as I find myself drawn to suede bags more and more. Suede both feels and looks luxe and as the new season looms in the distance, it continues to be a big trend for fall, with more and more soft suede bags popping up.
While there are offerings of all silhouettes, from crossbody bags and top handles to totes and more, my favorite options are the shoulder bags and ladylike top handles like the Andiamo Clutch, which not only look chic, but also prevent the dreaded denim transfer of crossbody bags.
Ultimately, buying a suede bag means understanding that it will age differently than leather and require more care. Still the journey of collecting bags is all about buying what speaks to you and makes your heart happy, and if that happens to be suede, just buy the bag.
I’d like to add to the list the Manu Atelier Le Cambon 35 in brown suede!!
That is a gorgeous bag!
That RL Polo ID bag is the nicest of all and the price point is more attainable!
I miss the new Loewe Puzzle in dark brown suede.
I like suede bags but will only buy them in person at the store. I need to see and feel the quality of the suede. One of the best suede bags I’ve handled was from Moynat in a wonderful bright sea blue color. Alas, Moynat (unwisely IMO) discontinued some of the bags I liked most and offers far fewer rich colors for the bags currently available. FWIW, the suede I’ve seen at Tod’s is quite good.
I’d like to see others options under 500 please
