Balenciaga is on a roll these days, and its success shows no signs of slowing, with Demna Gvalsia releasing handbag hit after handbag hit. The continued trend toward nostalgia and all things 90s-inspired has helped the brand see growth amongst both new and old consumers.
The buzz surrounding Balenciaga carries on, and on the heels of its buzz-worthy fashion show which teased its latest collab, the brand released its fall 2022 campaign, starring Bella Hadid (who else?!). Balenciaga continues to redefine itself as a brand, and today we’ve got a look at what’s to come from the House this fall.
The Balenciaga Lindsay Bag, a New Throwback Icon
The Lindsay Bag screams nostalgia, reminiscent of the ever-present baguette-esque shoulder bags from the late 90s and early 2000s. This time, the classic silhouette is given a definitive Balenciaga touch with a moto-buckle to finish off the otherwise simple flap bag. The bag is once again a welcome change from the logo-laden bags of Balenciaga’s post, containing no immediately identifiable branding and continuing to allude to the end of the kitschy tricks that Demna’s tenure at Balenciaga has been defined by.
While this bag is undoubtedly going to be a big push for the brand in the coming season, presented in the brand’s fall 2022 campaign, its simplicity may deter Balenciags’s usual set of fans. Those loving the new Lindsay bag should note that the bag comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large. The two larger versions are finished with a leather strap, while the smaller version appears to function best as a night-out bag with its chain strap. An array of colors are available throughout the line, as well as both smooth calfskin options and Balenciaga’s House staple embossed croc.

This honestly looks like the Guess bags that I had in middle schools in the 1990s…
Not only is this bag ugly – we have dead soul Bella model it and make it ghastly
Looks like a TJ Maxx bag. It’s quite ordinary.
The bag does look like something from TJ MAXX and this is an awful picture of Bella so a lose/lose situation.
Guess x Balenciaga?
Looks like something you can pick up at TJMAXX for $14.99.
balenciaga is so inconsistent as a brand and the ambassadors the choose need some serious reflection. Bella literally looks like she’s starving to death. the bags literally are all eh with an exception for the rhinestone hourglass.
Seriously. Are the prominent ribs supposed to be aspirational? Someone needs to give her a sandwich (and a shirt).
There’s nothing unique or special, about this bag, to command such a high price.
Looks like something that was thrown on the side of the road. it’s hideous.
This looks like a bag one would purchase at a mall kiosk.
I stick to my bal classic city and that is it …sorry
No thanks.
This is beyond horrible!!
its so bad I’m lost for words
I like it. It’s a shoulder bag with a unique shape, seems useful as long as buckle is actually a magnetic closure.
