Bags In The Wild

The Best Street Style Bags We Spotted in the Upper East Side

PurseBlog here, your one and only source into the bag-loving lives of Manhattan's elite

Summer is coming and going faster than you can blink, but before we move on to covering fall fashion, we’ve got a few more warm-weather installments of Bags in the wild for you all. This summer, we spent a lot of time scouring (and walking) the city streets of New York to bring you the best street-style bags. We’ve conquered SoHo and the West Village, so we thought it was time to head all the way uptown to Gossip Girl’s territory: The Upper East Side.

Sporty and Chic

The Upper East Side breeds a completely different set of bag-lovers. Home to some of The Real Housewives of New York, The Met Museum, Central Park, and famed Madison Avenue, we were excited to see which bags everyday fashion lovers would be carrying in the UES. We were not disappointed, but we were surprised to see a slew of sporty yet trendy silhouettes.

What’s better than one eye-catching designer bag…two! This show-stopping duo was almost too good to be true. The Chanel Double Flap is what caught our eye first, but we soon realized that its owner’s equally stylish and sporty friend was wearing a Prada Re-Edition 2005 Re-Nylon bag.

Edgy and Eye-Catching

While sporty nylon was a popular choice for Upper East Sider’s on one of the hottest days of the year, edgy and on-trend revivals were just as beloved this summer. From the Dior Saddle bag to the Balenciaga Neo Classic, what’s old is definitely new again, and no, it’s not just gossip; it is actually true!

Easy Breezy

On a hot summer day in August, we weren’t surprised to see a slew of easy-breezy outfits paired with bags that make grabbing and going look effortless. Unsurprisingly, Louis Vuitton seemed to be a favorite, and we were thrilled to see a more under-the-radar LV uptown, the Louis Vuitton Girolata.

What’s better than a duo? A trio! This Palm Springs Mini really caught our eye as did its wearer’s bag-loving pals, who were seen carrying some great eye candy from Celine and Gucci.
