I have gone through phases of loving and disliking then loving Juicy Couture. But Juicy Couture realized they needed to reach out to the masses and they have. Long gone are the days of track suits only and here are the days of cute dresses, leather bags, and addictive charms. Amanda recently reviewed the Juicy Couture Queens Garden Tote which she liked but thought there was a bit too much going on.

Just as there is a good chance you have your favorite little black dress hanging in your closet, there is probably a decent chance that you have a go-to black handbag.

You know the kind I am talking about. It goes with anything, it is timeless and it is always faithful. This is the bag that can dress up or dress down an outfit based on what you need it to do. And of course, while you might have a black bag that you want to carry for years and years to come, you know that one day you’ll take a look at it and need a replacement.

So, preemptively: yes, this is not a handbag! And yes, this is a handbag blog. But handbag girls like accessories in general, right? I know that I do. And variety is the spice of life, right? Of course! So why not just shake things up a little bit for a second, and talk about something that is decidedly accessory-like, but not in a handbag way.

Translation: it’s Monday and none of my usual websites put up anything at all interesting or fun over the weekend for me to write about, and I can’t squeeze blood from a stone. You all have days like that at your jobs, I’m sure. But in mine, it means I get to talk about the lovely Triple 7 Global Bow Feather Headband.

The brutal war of attrition between Bravo and the Weinsteins is over, and the first episode of the sixth season of Project Runway has come and gone, and guess what! It didn’t suck, like, at all! Well, ok, parts of it sucked, but those parts will get eliminated eventually. I was pleasantly surprised, and most of my fears were assuaged.

In fact, the show felt almost exactly the same. The folks at Lifetime apparently made a painstaking effort to keep the details of the show as they were – the one-on-one interviews had the same background, the runway set was exactly the same, even the workroom at FIDM didn’t look that different than the one at Parsons. Even the font that shows the designer’s names at the bottom of the screen is the same. Without the commercials aggressively advertising Lifetime shows about plus-sized women, I would have forgotten I was watching Lifetime. Which is exactly what I had hoped.

The next big bag for the fall is the YSL Roady. A chic hobo shape, this YSL bag has already been spotted on the likes of Mary Kate Olsen, Rachel Bilson, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Kylie Minogue. Will you be one of the next sporting this trendy yet timeless hobo?

I spent a decent amount of time last Friday complaining about a particularly bad color choice that Marc by Marc Jacobs made for fall – lavender. It’s just not cute. I stand by that assertion!

But because I like the brand as a whole, and also because I like to give credit where credit is due, I have to point you all in the direction of one of his most fantastic color choices: the bright, saturated red of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Strippy Zippy Groovee Bag (try saying THAT three times fast…).

We’re talking more than we normally do about Alexander McQueen, and that’s not just because he’s one of my favorite designers. Well, that’s part of the reason, since I’m the one picking the bags, but it’s not the entire thing!

Mostly it’s because, more than anyone else, McQueen’s luxe-punk aesthetic embodies so many of the trends for fall that other designers are scrambling to ape. Industrial and goth are two influences that find their way into his work over and over again, and it’s natural that we would talk about him repeatedly when we’re discussing how important those things are for the coming season. Another bag that makes that totally obvious is the Alexander McQueen Faithful Bucket Tote.
