As a permanent resident of a subtropical climate, a brand’s summer collection always speaks to me. One of my favorites, year after year, is Chanel, which is aptly named Chanel Coco Beach. And for 2026, Chanel Coco Beach is back and extremely playful.
While we aren’t fully in the novelty-level-of-Karl Lagerfeld days, we are still being given every right touch of materials and vibes to kick off summer.
And truly, Chanel understood the assignment this season.
The collection feels carefree in a way that luxury can sometimes forget to be. Raffia, mesh, denim, oversized silhouettes, beach-ready hobos, and charms that feel intentionally cheeky all come together to create a lineup that does not take itself too seriously.
Which, honestly, is part of the appeal of Coco Beach in the first place. It is Chanel on vacation. Chanel after a beach lunch. Chanel with salty hair. It is Chanel on summer vacation with no school drop-offs. It is my kind of Chanel.

The braided raffia bags immediately pulled me in, because if you’ve been around here for a while, you know I can not resist raffia. There is a Chanel Maxi Shopping Bag along with an orange Chanel Raffia Flap Bag.
Raffia has become a seasonal staple across luxury, but Chanel manages to make it feel polished without losing the relaxed ease that makes summer bags desirable in the first place. The woven texture paired with gold-tone hardware gives both bags that unmistakable Chanel feel, but with a lighter, more playful attitude that works especially well for warmer months. On the Maxi Shopping bag, the crocheted raffia appears as pompoms, giving a truly tactile appeal to the bag.

Of course, the true conversation starter may be the Nemo-inspired fish bag, which, unfortunately, is not currently showing online. If you miss the whimsical novelty bags of past Chanel eras, this is the piece that will probably stop you in your tracks. It is playful, unexpected, slightly ridiculous in the best way, and exactly the kind of bag that reminds us fashion is supposed to be fun sometimes.
That is really the overarching feeling of Chanel Coco Beach 2026. Fun. Not overly serious. Not overly polished. Just a collection that embraces summer dressing with enough whimsy, texture, and personality to make even the most diehard black-leather-bag person consider raffia for a minute.

The Maxi Hobo is very casual with design-forward details. The bag shape itself is very slouchy, and it mixes a mostly canvas body with calfskin trim. The best part of this bag is the chunky wood chain detail, which finishes the bag with a summery vibe without becoming too theme-y.
And then we have the denim Small Shopping Bag, which taps into another trend Chanel keeps revisiting successfully: elevated casual. Denim bags always find their audience because they feel approachable while still carrying the Chanel fantasy. This one feels easy to wear, easy to style, and very much designed for actual day-to-day use.

I’m closing it out with what may be my favorite of the lot, because I always come back to Chanel’s seasonal take on its Classic Flaps.
This Chanel Small Flap Bag with sea-themed charms is peak playful, while being a true statement piece. The black crochet pairs so well with the gold shell charms, and this is all pulled together with red coral charms and stones. The charms add personality without venturing too far into costume territory, and the mesh body gives it a sportier, beach-club-adjacent feel that Coco Beach does so well.
It feels youthful, fun, and honestly like the kind of seasonal bag collectors will regret passing on later. It’s on my list (waiting for a secret stash of money to reveal itself to me ASAP).

‘Fun’ is really the overarching feeling of Chanel Coco Beach 2026. It’s not overly serious. Not overly polished.
Just a collection that embraces summer dressing with enough whimsy, texture, and personality to make even the most diehard black-leather-bag person consider raffia for a minute.

Imagine spending $10k on pocket size, mesh bag with plated brass charms 😳. Or $8k on a cotton beach towel shaped into a sack 🤦🏻♀️
sounds like a scam covered as “Luxury” Lol
yikes, these look super cheap
Thank you! That white hobo in particular looks like an early y2k knock off. I never thought I could absolutely hate an entire collection of Chanel but here we are.
Remove the Chanel logo from all of these and you get $39 bags from Target.
39? I was thinking $19.99…LOL!!!
The disconnect between the actual item and the price they are charging for it is vertiginous.
What happened to the Chanel I love? :'(
I always wonder, what makes that 10K? because it’s Chanel? That’s all????? Start to think the “Luxury” is kinda scam.
What is that abomination of a bag made from what looks like a rag for $7900??!! OMG
Oh gosh this is quirky and fun but what would make this the best is every piece was under $1000
I love them (except for that one with the wooden handle, it seems shapeless)! I can’t find the price on Nemo, anyone know?!
I love love love the raffia flap bag. That color
and material is perfect summer in my world.
These look shockingly cheaply made. I mean, a good number of them look like the kind of thing counterfeiters wouldn’t even dare try and sell you with a straight face. Chanel’s had a lot of good turns lately, but they can’t be doing this.
I love love love the rafia flap bag, color is my perfect idea of summer.
Excellent analysis! Looking forward to seeing these players in action. Booker T Can’t wait to follow the season closely.
