Real Housewives of New York City: Im not a pregnant type of person. Ramona is crazy 200x138Wait, so, I missed something. We got a new housewife, Sonja Morgan (yes, she divorced a descendent of JP Morgan) last night, and I had no idea that she was coming. At any rate, she’s here and she seems like a total crazyperson, which is exactly what I like to see. She spent half of her intro talking about how important sex is to her, and then we found out that she has an elevator. Not in her building; in her townhouse. Excellent. She will do just fine.

Beyond that, there were various and sundry other sorts of bizarreness all crammed into one episode: LuAnn on a rickshaw, Bethenny laying on the floor of her bathroom after finding out she was pregnant, Simon running around in his underwear in a clothing store. Oh, and there was also the little matter of Ramona’s already-famous runway walk of insanity…

Alright, I am in the mood to be honest today. So, Amanda, when you read this, don’t hate me too much. I don’t always like Valentino bags. I guess, for me, some bags are just too feminine. In fact, I almost end up laughing a bit to myself when I read one of Amanda’s glowing Valentino reviews because everything she is saying is spot on, yet, I still can’t get myself to see the light.

However, today, well today is a very different story my friends. I am looking at so many things I typically would stay away from but today, I am gravitating towards.

Well, now isn’t this an interesting clutch. From time to time I find myself fixated on a handbag for so many conflicting reasons. Anyone else do the same?

There is something beyond clutch-worthy about this Tory Burch creation yet there is also something that screams “no way” all at once. “How can that be?” you ask. Let me paint a picture… with words.

There’s no doubt about it: turquoise, teal and any variation thereof are the colors of the season. And really, why shouldn’t they be? Blue-greens look fabulous against colors like white and yellow, which are nearly omnipresent during warmer months. It only fits.

In light of all that, I can’t help but like the Steven by Steve Madden Oversized Quilted Clutch in such a timely hue. I’ve never been overly impressed with the materials or finishes that the line uses, but the clutch is real leather, and the lines are simple and clean enough that it might appeal to those that have already written off the line.

Well. I guess we know what happened to the rest of Megs’ pink fox.

I’m sorry, that joke was inappropriate. I’m one of those people that makes terrible jokes at the worst times when I’m uncomfortable. And, suffice it to say, the Roger Vivier Foxtrot Clutch makes me really uncomfortable. I think it’s looking at me. It’s like one of those creepy haunted house paintings where the eyes move to follow you, and come to think of it, that’s exactly where this clutch belongs – in a house of horrors.

Lady Gaga sends a Birkin message to her Japanese fans spl171717 001 393x590

If you’re a fan of the Hermes Birkin (or simply not a fan of Lady Gaga), gird your loins for this one.

When her Monster Ball tour landed recently in Tokyo, La Gagita was seen in the airport carrying a white Hermes Birkin inscribed with a message that loosely translates to “I love small monster. Toyko love.”

In case you’re not familiar with the Gaga vernacular, “little monsters” is the name that she uses to refer to her fans, so her Birkin message was a shout-out to those that would be attending her Japanese shows. Using accessories and the paparazzi to communicate – clever, or not so much?

Regular readers of the blog will know that I’m a huge Lady Gaga fangirl, so I think it’s fairly clever. It’s not the most interesting thing she’s ever done, but playing with fashion and blurring the lines of social acceptability are two things that are integral to her public image, and not only does a Sharpie’d Birkin combine those things effectively, but it has managed set tongues wagging all over the internet.

UPDATE: As commenter Allen pointed out, it looks as though Gaga has now had her Japanese fans sign the back of the same Birkin, according the the pictures that she posted on Twitter today.

Let's be best friends.
