Céline Dion seems like she has a great sense of humor. She’s also got the voice of an angel, sure, but over the arc of her fame, she’s always seemed happy, funny, sometimes even goofy–like she loves her fans and feels lucky and finds this whole fame thing sorta kooky. In a world of stars media-trained into blandness, she’s always refreshing.
Céline’s had a tragic year in her personal life, with the passing of both her husband and brother within a few days of each other, but fans still come out to greet her in droves whenever there’s a chance she’ll be spotted exiting a Parisian hotel, and she greets them warmly and enthusiastically, based on paparazzi pictures, and usually with a gorgeous bag on her arm. Speaking of Céline’s sense of humor: her favorite bag brand appears to be Céline, which I just find endlessly endearing. I mean, if a brand made fabulous bags and happened to share a first name with you, wouldn’t you sort of love that too? Check out all of those and more below.
Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Tote
Shop Bottega Veneta via Neiman Marcus
Beyond just the bags, you’ll notice something else here: Céline is seemingly always coming or going from a hotel. I think she and her family have a permanent residence in one in Paris.
Céline Belt Bag
Honestly, Céline’s dedication to Céline bags makes me so happy.
Céline Classic Box Bag
Céline’s collection is pretty varied; we only spotted her doubling up on one bag, and it’s this one.
Céline Classic Box Bag
Can you blame her, though?
Céline Medium Square Bag
In general, Céline sticks to her preferred brand’s consumer-friendly favorites, but she does have at least one of the brand’s weirder runway pieces.
Céline Phantom Luggage Tote
We found no regular Luggage Tote in Céline’s Céline selection, but she does have at least one Phantom.
Céline Trapeze Bag
Céline also has the super-popular Trapeze in super-popular all Black.
Chanel Tote
It can’t be all Céline for Céline, though. Like any star who spends a lot of time in Paris, she has some Chanel (and Hermès and Dior, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves).
Dior Diorissimo Bag
I’ve always felt the Diorissimo was a tad underrated, and I’m glad Céline agrees.
Fendi Peekaboo Bag
$4,500 via Saks
What a lovely, vibrant shade of purple.
Givenchy Horizon Bag
$2,690 via Saks
Céline is the first celeb I’ve seen to carry this new Givenchy bag, which is surprising when you consider how many close, personal, famous friends Riccardo Tisci has (for instance, all of the Kardashian-Jenners).
I’m not entirely sure who makes this bag. It maybe be another of Céline’s Célines. If so, advise me in the comments.
Hermès Birkin
Anyone famous for as long as Céline has to have a couple Hermès bags. It’s the law.
Hermès Kelly Bag
Céline seems like a nice lady who wouldn’t want to be in violation of any laws.
Lanvin Amalia Tote
Shop Lanvin via Neiman Marcus
Céline’s hair always looks so soft.
Lanvin Happy Bag
Shop Lanvin via Neiman Marcus
I bet it always smells good, too.
Saint Laurent Betty Bag
$930 via FWRD
I realize having an opinion on how a stranger’s hair probably smells might be a little weird, but I just think Céline is kinda great.
Saint Laurent Cabas Rive Gauche Tote
$2,450 via Barneys
Céline’s not a rockstar in musical or personal style, but Saint Laurent might still be her second favorite brand, based on the available evidence.
Saint Laurent Studded Sac de Jour Bag
Shop Saint Laurent via Nordstrom
Making studs ladylike isn’t hard. (Just ask the team at Valentino!)
Victoria Beckham Shoulder Bag
Shop Victoria Beckham via Net-a-Porter
Has to be a trip to carry a bag by a famous peer with whom you’re likely pretty well-acquainted.
