We’ve written a fair bit about Linjer over the last year or so. Their bags are minimalistic and simple, focusing on quality materials and expert craftsmanship. My favorite bag of the bunch—the bag that I personally love to wear and use—is definitely the Linjer Doctor’s Bag. I love everything about this bag from the bag’s adorable vintage shape to the construction and the materials of the bag, I simply adore it! Many of you felt the same way when we first shared details of this bag with you back in the fall.
I’m used to carrying bags that are smaller, and often I have a hard time filling the inside of a bag if it’s on the bigger side. I do understand that not everyone can streamline what it is that they carry day to day, and one thing we heard over and over again was that, though the bag was really adorable and different, many of you felt that it was too small to suit your lifestyle. While it’s certainly not a tote and the interior capacity is on the smaller side, this bag holds more than you might think. Some of you may be surprised to see that the Linjer Doctor’s Bag could work for you too!

The Doctor’s Bag comes in at 9.3″ W X 7.9″ H X 5″ D and in it I was able to carry…
– Rifle Paper Co 2019 Planner
– Karen Walker Helter Skelter Sunglasses (in case!)
– Saint Laurent Wallet
– iPhone X
– Small tupperware with TUMS
– Mario Badescu Lip Balm
– L’Occitane Hand Cream
– Laura Mercier Mini Translucent Powder Palette
– My keys
On a normal day I would likely throw a snack in here as well such as a protein bar or nuts, and I had room for that if need be. I was not only impressed that I could carry my planner in this bag, but also, I was able to keep my sunglasses in their case, which is quite large. I’m very careful with my sunglasses and I really liked that I was able to keep them safe and secure in their case. You can see how I organized everything to fit below!
LOVE small bags and love the minimalistic look. Definitely on my want list.
I bought this bag and I couldn’t be happier with it. I was able to fit about the same; an LV small wallet, a card holder, my Moleskine datebook, tissues, reading glasses, Mac compact and my small Chanel O Case as well as my LV cle. It’s a wonder this bag is!!
Where is this bag made?
I love this bag,
How is the quality and the leather of the bag? My one hesitation is the super yellow gold hardware. I’m not a fan of that, wish it came in silver or something else than gold.
The quality is definitely there. The leather is really nice, soft and smooth but more durable than I originally thought it might be. I’ve been using this bag a ton to be honest and I haven’t had any issues at all with it showing wear or scratching. I typically like a more matte, muted gold as well, but I like the super yellow gold in this case alongside the navy!
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but the does the hardware feel sturdy? Or does it feel like the hardware that you typically get from Zara or other fast fashion bags?
I’m less concerned with the scratching as long as the functionality holds up over time
Also do the corners of the bag show wear/ signs that the leather wasn’t dyed through (wearing and showing the white flesh underneath)
TIA your patience!
Bit late on this! I wouldn’t say I’ve used it enough to speak to how the corners will hold up though I will say so far, so good. The hardware seems sturdy to me as in it locks well and holds in place, but it’s not super heavy if that helps.
After researching and researching I pulled the trigger and the bag arrives today. Total of 2 business days including a holiday to be shipped and delivered. I’m excited.
Let us know what you think!
I love it. The quality is there. I love the size. My iPad, wallet, and phone fit. Overall I am pleased. I love the communication from the company about how to care for it, delivery speed, and the classic styling is exactly what I wanted.
I purchased this, but immediately returned it since it was too small for my needs. In addition, it was made in China and based on prior purchases of bags made in China I believed that it would not hold up over time.
I’ve been using this bag a fair bit, so far so good, but I can keep you all posted. It is on the smaller side though so I can definitely understand how it can be too small for some. For me it’s just right.
I saw this bag on IG and fell in love! I’m a sucker for a frame style bag and the simplistic look showcasing the leather has pushed this bag to the top of my “To Buy” list! I was actually afraid it would be too BIG and boxy looking though and this review really helped me see that it’s more streamlined than I originally thought. One question, I LOVE your Hamsa keychain Kaitlin, WHERE did you get it?? ???
Honestly I love this bag and I think you will too. I use it often, including today…it’s sitting right beside me while I’m working in a coffee shop 🙂
My roommate brought me back that keychain after her trip to Israel last spring 🙂
I like the quirkiness of the design, a miniature doctor’s bag… But don’t like the gold hardware either, it looks a bit cheap. Also, I am quite disappointed that this brand isn’t very transparent about the fact that it is produced in China.
